okay before i get trampled let be clarify no killing eve isn't queer bait in the traditional sense - because we know that the characters are at least to some degree sexually attracted to another. the queer bait stems from the people writing it (and apparently sandra oh ?? which i'm hoping was misquoted ??) wanting to pretend that it's something it is entirely not. it feels almost as if they don't want to label their sexual attraction to one another bc then the show might be labelled as a 'gay' show - and not the thriller sorta show it is. understandably i get this bc the show is more than their relationship but also their relationship, their SEXUAL relationship plays a huge role in their obsession for one another. dismissing it for something that it is not really makes zero sense to me ?? it's queer bait because they're trying to capitalise on both straight and gay audiences by keeping it 'ambiguous' to what their relationship is - contrary to the fact that the literal things occuring in the show all point to it being sexual. at this point it feels verging on ridiculous bc yes there obsession for one another is more than just sexual - the sexual aspect of it is still influencing their decisions. am i naive in thinking eve & v will have a long and beautiful life together ? hell no. but THEY are attracted to one another in both a sexual and romantic sense. the romance from eves view is literally epitomised on the night after she sleeps with hugo and hears v's voice - ITS ROMANTIC. refusing to label it as something like that feels so illogical
