The sudden and severe climatic shifts had been unexpected, especially within the colder biomes that, for a long time, had remained uninhabited by the underprepared ancient heroes: which hadn’t been too big of an issue prior to the extinction event. Neither fortresses nor bunkers were thick enough to protect from the sudden unbearable cold and the unending storms. Being one of only few settlements in the icy desert they were located too far from any possible help; most eventually succumbing to the isolation, food shortage, air quality and freezing temperatures.

It’s incredibly upsetting to see that your own people would, without a care in the world, abandon you in the face of an apocalypse.
