          The meditation room was his sanctuary; somewhere he’d always gone          for some damn peace and quiet. Being too busy throughout the day,           Kanda had made it routine to wake up at 5 am every morning in order to          visit it; he found that no other exorcist loitered these halls in the early           hours, and used it so that he could strip his mind of the vivid nightmares          that marred his dreams–the same recurring memory for the past 9 years.          Sitting criss-cross in the middle of the asian-esque chamber, he opted for          the lights off and for the natural light to enter through the windows; he           always found the brisk morning’s light to be ironic, how it pleasantly           shone through the window panes and down on his features during such a          dark stage of his day–but it would also be a lie to say the sun’s warm           embrace not comforting and reassuring. 

          This morning routine went uninterrupted for a while; it wasn’t until a           certain exorcist quietly pushed open the door, breaking him from the           reverie he’d been lost in. He’s already casting a glare in Miya’s direction           as she ambles over to seat herself next to him. Kanda opens his mouth           to make a snarky remark, but she’s already one step ahead of him.           Normally it’d have really set him off, but his mind is still churning; he           curtly turns away and grunts, eyes closed and head bowed down–          but not without a stab back.
