Louis had hoped, almost against hope itself, that Abolish would still be around. The butler had served Scott well and, whenever he went to visit his fledglings tomb, he was always there.
Then Louis vanished for 200 years. Then he came back.
It made no sense, he knew that, but surely Abolish was still around and... and maybe they could talk? Catch up like old times.
@revived-rose
And by some miracle, he was still around. Still a human, but clearly a cursed one. How he was cursed he wasn’t aware, but perhaps it was his punishment for serving an evil lord. He didn’t care though, he would serve Scott till the bitter end.
He was at the castle of Oakhurst. He found it comforting to be there. Even though ti was different he had learned it like the back of his hand once again. He didn’t really know anything outside of it.
Louis knocked on the door, waiting for an answer that usually came fast at that specific rhythm. Nobody else used it other than Louis.
Abolish recognized the knocking pattern and quickly went to answer the door.
“Louis? You’re here?”
"Abolish!"
He greeted, smiling.
"I haven't seen you in years."
“You’re alive? I thought you died.”
"I was, yes, but I'm back now."
“How..? That shouldn’t be possible.”
"I was revived. That's... the best theory I have."
“Please come in.”
He stood to the side to let Louis in
He smiled, stepping in and bowing slightly to Abolish.
"I missed you."
“I missed you too. Does my lord know you’re alive?”
"I'm not sure. He should be able to tell."
“Where have you been? How do you feel?”
It was clear that a lot of questions were running through his mind, but he mostly wanted to make sure the other was ok.
"I was in... the afterlife, I suppose. I feel fine, ignoring the joint pain. How are you?"
“I’m alright..- it’s difficult to wrap my head around the fact that you’re here.”
"I get that. I'm still struggling myself with it." he said, smiling softly at him.
“Make yourself at home. This place belongs to you just as much as it does to us.”
"Thank you, Abolish."
He sank into one of the chairs, looking around.
"It's nice in here."
“It took a while to build but it was done well.”
"It really was." he smiled, patting the seat next to him. "Please, sit down."
He nodded and sat down next to him.
“This is really nice..”

He was at the castle of Oakhurst. He found it comforting to be there. Even though ti was different he had learned it like the back of his hand once again. He didn’t really know anything outside of it.
He stood there. Dressed in that old butler’s disguise. His eyes were that same brown they used to be at Oakhurst. The white in his hair was gone, but it was still him. This was Abolish.
“Hello. Have you seen Scott Goldsmith anywhere? I’m looking for him.”
Saying his lord’s name felt wrong on his tongue, but he couldn’t just ask strangers if they knew his lord. They wouldn’t know what he was talking about
@600-years-waiting
Legs turned around, thoughts immediately spiralling from his voice. His *son*'s voice.
"Abolish? Oh, oh Abolish-" He ignored the other's question. "I thought you were dead-"
He took a step back from the stranger. He had never met this man before in his life, he was sure of that.
“How do you know my name?”
Had he met him before? It wasn’t a possibility that he had known him inside the castle before his lord was put to rest, but that was over six hundred years ago. There was no way he would be able to remember that.
"...you're Abolish. Abolish Veylocke, leader of the seige of the castle... my son."
He took a step forwards. "You are my Abolish, right?"
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I am Abolish Veylocke, but I’m not a leader of anything. I simply follow my lord.”
What was this man talking about? Maybe he should ask someone else for directions to find his lord.
"You're the greatest fighter against the coven that Oakhurt had to offer, you... you have to remember it, Abolish-" tears pricked his eyes. "-please. For me."
“Oakhurst? I never fought anyone here. All I’ve ever done in Oakhurst was serve Scott Goldsmith.”
There was nothing to remember. Those experiences were not his. It was like the universe was playing a cruel prank on Legundo. To Abolish this man looked crazy.
"I... what? No, you hated Scott- you hated him as you hated all vampires- what's gotten into you?!"
“I could never hate vampires, especially not my lord. Lord Goldsmith means everything to me. I tended to his sleeping body for six hundred years.”
"...what? But- you- what????"
“My Lord did a lot for me. He’s a kind soul who’s always been there for me. I admire him heavily. My only wish is that he was never put to sleep. I would’ve loved to spend the last six hundred years with him conscious.”
"He's manipulative and... and cruel, how could you love someone like that?"
“He’s nothing of the sort. If you won’t help me find him then I’ll take my leave.”
He huffed and turned his back to the other. How rude of him to speak ill of his lord.
His heart sunk. "Wait, I'm sure I could help you find him, kid-"
“That’s better. Thank you sir.”
He still didn’t even know the other’s name. How odd that this man knew his without an introduction.
"You're welcome." How strange it felt to hear 'sir' from son's mouth. He still, despite everything, refused to acknowledge the fact this wasn't his son
“What’s your name?”
He finally decided to ask. He wanted to at least know the name of this crazy man.
"Legundo. Viktor Legundo." He bowed his head as a sign of respect. Not taken from Abolish's standing, but a habit he'd never fully let go of from the war.
“I see. Very well then Sir Legundo.”
At least he had a name for the crazed stranger now.
"You don't have to call me sir, Abolish." He sighed.
“As you wish Legundo.”
He nodded at his words. Hopefully he could find out where his lord was with the man’s help.
"...you really aren't my Abolish, are you?"
“No. I don’t know you and I haven’t known you up until you introduced yourself.”
"Oh..."
He's lost. He's lost and he left you. He's probably dead all because YOU couldn't take care of him well enough. Pathetic.
“If you want I could get to know you though?”
He seemed… really pathetic. Maybe a friend was what the other needed.
"Really?" He couldn't replace Abolish, nobody could replace Abolish, but maybe he could be similar. Another friend.
“I don’t see why not. It may bring you peace of mind.”
"I don't think anything can bring me peace of mind anymore, Abolish."
“Do you want me to or not?”
"You can try." He said, head still spiralling a bit as he tried to make sense of it all. "I won't deny you of that."
“If you don’t insist on it then I will leave you be.”
"PLEASE STAY-"
"I don't want to force you to be friends with me for being broken, Abolish, but I wouldn't say no to the friendship."
“I suppose we can be friends. I can send you letters if you want.”
"I would like that. He sometimes sent letters to me."
“Who did?”
He raised an eyebrow
"My Abolish. My son."
“I see. What happened to him?”
"Vanished. I presume dead, but I don't know. Something changed, something broke, but I don't know... he's gone though... and I'll never see him again-" his claws found his sleeve and he subconsciously started picking at it again
“I see. I’m sorry for your loss.”
"It's alright..." liar.
“I hope you’ll find out what happened at least.”
"I hope I do too."
“Do you think there’s anything I can do to help?”
"Not unless you know how to turn back time and let me apologise to him again..."
“Apologize to him? For what?”
"For not being his dad the past few weeks-"
“I see. I’m sorry.”
"You have no need to apologise."
“I feel sympathy for you.”
"Oh..." sympathy? That was strange. "Thank you-?"
“Of course.”
He nodded to him. How unfortunate that he lost his son.
He nodded back silently. Truth be told, he didn't know how to respond.
“So… what do you do?”
"I'm meant to be the doctor for the town."
“I see. I’m a butler for Lord Goldsmith.”
"I inferred that based on your want to get back to him."
“I suppose I’m not the best at hiding it. Then again I have no reason to.”
"I see no shame in showing loyalty."
“Some people find my devotion off putting.”
"Some people have never seen true loyalty."
“Exactly. I’m glad you understand.”
"Why wouldn't I?"
“I don’t know.”
He shrugged
His posture straightened slightly. "Sometimes being loyal is the best thing a person can do."
“I was by his side for over six hundred years.”
"Dedication. Passion. Loyalty. Good traits for a person." There was something more gravelly about his voice compared to how it was before.
“Why did your voice change?”
"What do you mean?" The Soldier asked, head tilted slightly.
“Your voice got more gravelly.”
"Huh. I didn't realise it did that." He chuckled dryly. More confident. Almost... almost like he was a different man.
“Did something change?”
"I suppose." He shrugged.
“What changed?”
"Me."
“…would you like to elaborate?”
"Would you like me to?"
“I would, yes.”
"I am the other half of Legundo. The Hyde to his Jekyll, as some may say."
“I don’t understand what that means.”
"You have the generosity and goodness of the Doctor, then the anger and loyalty of me. When Legundo died, the purgatory made me more physical."
“So it’s like you’re a different person in his body?”
"It's more like I'm his violence given consciousness and forced to live with him."
“So yes. I was right.”
"In a sense."
“How odd.”
"Odd? How is it odd?"
“You have another person inside of you.”
"We're the same person, I just was accidentally created by death."
“Yet you’re different.”
"I'm what the Doctor was once."
“Was it really what he once was if you’re here again?”
"I'm what he once was, just given consciousness."
“Whatever you say.”
He hummed, crossing his arms. "You don't seem to believe me?"
“It’s hard to wrap my head around.”
"I get that." he sighed. "You can ask questions, you know."
“You keep mentioning purgatory. What do you mean by that?”
"You know what purgatory is, I trust?"
“I do, but I want to know what you mean by that.”
"The afterlife. Torture. The space between heaven and hell where the sinners who did good go for life, tortured by their past, by the ghosts they made."
“You were brought back to life after dying?”
"I was. By Abolish, no less."
“Isn’t that incredibly risky?”
"It is. I never came back the same."
“That makes sense. It’s not something that should be tampered with carelessly.”
"He did it with care-" that sounded like something he would say. He sounded more and more like his son...
“Did he regret it once he realized the differences?”
"He tried to kill me."
“That makes sense.”
"Does it?"
“The want to have a loved one return but the realization that they’ll never be the same and thus the feeling that they’re not really your loved one and the want to get rid of them.”
"I never wanted to get rid of you, though."
“Then maybe I’m wrong.”
"Maybe."
pause, thinking, regret.
"Hopefully."
“It seems like he cared about you though.”

They wouldn’t know what he was talking about
@600-years-waiting
