Good evening, I'm posting a snippet of a bleach fanfic wip to see if anyone was interested in helping me edit it a bit. Giving any general feedback is also welcome.
(Or in all honesty, this is also just a ruse to increase my stat in online social interaction)
So it's supposed to be Bleach. But the snippet currently has no actual bleach info yet unless you squint real hard.
The main thing is that I can't instill any real feelings of horror into the text. Or how to, from like 'a detached fascination' perspective.
It's also an SI/OC.
Oh, and it's not Y/N. I just don't have the energy to think of a name. I wrote this in 10 minutes, about to fall asleep, and in desperate need of social interaction.
___ closed his eyes and concentrated hard enough to retreat back into his inner world. He knew immediately he succeeded when his surroundings quieted. And suddenly the area he was sitting on was soaked. The sounds of water lapping onto his body was the only thing he could hear.
___ opened his eyes. Darkness encompassed him. The only source of illumination somehow coming from his person. And even then it was weak. Only lighting about 5 meters from him. Worn tiles lined the floors. Arched entrances made from those very same tiles supported the white ceiling every 50 meters or so. Repeating a pattern.
There wasn't much to explore this time. ___was a little disappointed. He could only see balls of smoke drifting from here to there. Eventually one of them lazily swam closer to him.
“Oh, hey! It's you. Welcome back.”
“I’m home.” He said.
The puff of smoke floated around him, checking him out. “Your hair looks nice.” They said.
“Thank you.” He placed a lot of effort into it.
Another set of smoke drifted to him. “Hi! You're back.”
“I’m back.”
“Nice hairstyle.” ___ could hear an appreciative whistle come his way. He nodded politely, “Thank you.”
___ got up to wander about. He felt like the darkness he couldn't reach hid secrets from him. And the fact that by there, not being any obvious threats to be seen. Exaggerated the possibility of one.
He liked the space he was in.
Repeating the same few formalities, and accepting new greetings from various different puffs of smoke. It was nice. Almost all of them made a comment on his hair. Some weren't as positive–saying they preferred another style they’d seen before–but most were very supportive.
I have figured out a sustainable way to write my fics! I just write the parts that I like most, then once I write enough scenes, I'll string them together. It really was just that easy.
Recently ive been thinking about a bleach oc where they're headmistress/grandmaster of the shinigami academy. Outwardly, she's an avid supporter to providing equal education to any and all. Truthfully, her goal is to acclaim as much knowledge as she can from other people. She does this by encouraging equal opportunity just so that more people will join and be under her watch and thus she'll be able to observe who has the most potential/research with ease. To all, she doesn't have a zanpakuto or people theorize but theres nothing solid.
Thats because her zanpakuto isn't inherently combat-based, her ability allows her to suck any knowledge from anyone, leaving a shell of a person behind.
Thats why it is so beneficial for her to gather as much people as she can into the academy, bc she understands that knowledge isn't discriminated by class, only by the support surrounding them.
Despite her glutton for knowledge, she also knows that when some things take a bit more time to develop their taste will inevitably be better than if she'd eaten right then and there. That's why she also looks for potential into her students and eventually ships them off somewhere that's still within her easy reach. Considering her academy is like the entrance everyone passes before going into gotei 13, onmitsukido or kido corps, her reach is damn far.
She'd have worked with Genryusai to begin the foundations of the academy with the commander focusing on developing material for the protection of soul society while she'd focus on the general or otherwise 'science' aspect of soul society, occasionally meeting in the middle when their respective research aligned.
She inevitably became head grandmaster when Genryusai left to build gotei 13.
She isn't a 'hero' or even have much great intentions. She's very much a self-serving character who looks out only for herself. And thats the way I like my characters to be.
She's been haunting me for some time so hopefully this'll lay her off a while, but who knows maybe ill write a proper fic for her one day. Although right now my fear of blank docs still stands tall.
