Every now and then I remember the concept I thought of for a fic in which Adachi failed the university entrance exam and ran away from home out of fear and shame.
Taking trains at random, as if he were guided by something, he arrives in Inaba and there a voice offers him a way to leave the world that makes him suffer behind forever.
He enters the TV and Adachi Tohru officially disappears.
Over the years the fog began to get thicker and thicker in Inaba until in 2011 began to be the first cases of a phenomenon very similar to apathetic syndrome.
Adachi lives in an identical Inaba but populated only by shadows. He no longer has obligations and duties. He is at peace.
The passage of time becomes increasingly distant as do human needs such as hunger.
Every now and then even the presence that allowed him to enter TV comes visits him but always elusive, shrouded in fog.
When he feels homesick or bored, he observe the real world through the TV...but as the goddess always points out to him, the outside world is full of many conflicting desires that make people unhappy.
He shouldn't be ashamed of his choice.
And so Adachi continues to remain there. To mock the rest of humanity, to think 'It would be better if this and that world became one. Shadows live happily. I'm happy like this.'
The fog is 'produced' by Adachi.
He is becoming less human and more divine (Izanagi) as the years go by, and his will as a 'gift' to others.
The shadows, who genuinely love him, begin to notice his heart becoming increasingly emptier and darker, his eyes golden.
One in particular, who seems more conscious and unique than the others (Teddie) will try to distance him from the TV world and the goddess, to make him find a passage back to his world.
But an angry Izanami will chase away that shadow and isolate Adachi even more, giving him access(confining him) to Yomotsu Hirasaka as a sign of true love and trust making him her new(old) husband.
Adachi he is very detached from his heart, his will almost one with that of the goddess.
There were few things keeping him human. His shadow friends and some of the inhabitants of Inaba that he had learned to love by watching their life as if it were a TV series (the Dojima family above all). Now there is nothing left.
Fortunately, Teddie's determination allows him to survive! Giving him a chance to seek outside help (Yu and the rest of IT).

If I ever managed Htkynagawi and another fic in parallel...it wouldn't be this one. I would prefer to somehow materialize the Soul Eater Au idea which constantly dwells in a corner of my mind, lurkingπ
