Nikola awarded $2M U.S. DOE grant for hydrogen refueling tech ++ #Nikola announced that it won a $2 million grant from the Department of Energy. While the DoE announced the grants in July, Nikola is promoting the news just two weeks after founder and former chairman Trevor Milton was indicted for allegedly committing fraud. ++ The grant was funded by the U.S. DOE’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Transportation Office, which recently announced the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Research and Development program for 2021. The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Transportation Office leads U.S. researchers and other partners in making transportation cleaner and more efficient through solutions that put electric drive vehicles on the road and replace oil with clean domestic fuels. ++ Nikola has spent much of the last year trying to rebound from Milton’s ousting, which came after he was accused of lying about the progress the startup had made by the time it went public. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSn_qV4nfnY/?utm_medium=tumblr
