thinking about a crack AU where ron is a seer and the characters only end up realizing this because every couple ron predicts or jokes about getting together actually eventually becomes a thing
say, ron makes a joke that's like "hufflepuff winning against gryffindor next match is about as likely as hermione and malfoy shagging before the end of this year", thinking that both things are impossible, but then hufflepuff wins & dramione somehow grow closer and begin to catch feelings for eachother
they try to hide their growing feelings and relationship but people start to catch on anyway, and one time it gets brought up while they're all eating in the great hall. ron thinks there's no way and is like "that's bloody ridiculous. that would be like if ginny had a crush on blaise zabini or something", and ginny suddenly drops the goblet she was drinking from, spilling the drink all over the table, and glares at everyone with a suspiciously reddened face when they turn to look at her
seamus finds this very interesting and amusing, and bothers ron with questions about who he thinks seamus will fall in love with. ron gets annoyed and says "FINE, you and dean will start dating" as just a way to get back at seamus and make him shut up, but then both seamus and dean visibly grow flustered and fall silent, making ron stare between them in confusion
everyone around him is starting to get curious now, and harry & hermione remember all the times ron offhandedly said or predicted something that ended up being true later on. ron, thinking there's no way he's a seer and that everyone is acting crazy, predicts some weird couple that he thinks could never happen as a way to get them to stop pestering him. something like daphne greengrass and hannah abbot
the next week, the two girls are seen kissing in the hallways. ron is left utterly bewildered, like "blimey.... AM i a seer???"
i'm a ronarry truther so i also imagine that there'd be a moment where harry curiously asks who he will get with and the first answer that immediately comes to ron's mind is "me", and then he flushes at the thought
you can make this sort of plotline work with so many different variations of ships and rarepairs, really
