well first of all your honor: have you seen him?
ok, ok serious answer below the cut (but also look at him)
his design is so fun. it perfectly captures the "all bark and no bite pretentious asshole" character he is. the all bark and no bite part is particularly important because he's all talk, but he's ultimately not threatening. i don't feel like i'd be in any danger around him. his worst crime is being pretentious
and yes there was the whole thing with buck but honestly i'm a firm believer in It Was Completely Unintentional And Brian Overestimated Himself. also kind of a hot take but i really don't like the headcanon that brian "caused" buck's lisp, that feels kinda gross and in poor taste to me. what happened still probably qualifies as an allegory to medical malpractice tbf and there should be consequences, but my point is i don't think brian is malicious in that sense. he's not like ben in which ben has absolutely no qualms with violence (still love them but damn ben wyd)
i also see myself in brian in a way; his character to me comes across as someone with very low self-esteem who is overcompensating and feels like he has to "prove" his worth. obviously he's an asshole for the way he goes about it, pushing others down and asserting himself as superior so he can feel better. but the way he has a lot of *david attenborough voice* Apparently Useless trivia knowledge and gets caught up in talking about things he's personally interested in (haha what am i doing right now) is relatable to me. brain has no room for actually important knowledge like filing taxes and taking loans and making payments. too full of knowledge that probably doesn't have any practical use in my life for the foreseeable future.
even then i often worry i come across as pretentious myself. i like to share the things i enjoy and am interested in, and i like showing others what i've learned because learning for its own sake is fun! and i feel like with brian we wouldn't judge each other for nerding out about random shit because we're both huge nerds. it's ok. we can yap at each other for the next 500 years and it enriches both of us to have someone genuinely interested in the random shit we have in mind without insulting each other's intelligence.
progress of course is very important! i see brian having those walls built around him in which he Insists upon himself (haha) as a defense mechanism. he's expecting to be dismissed as that annoying little basement dweller. he's waiting for people to tell him his ideas are impractical and to not try them, or work with him to make them better. but i think about the healing process, him slowly realizing he's not in danger in that sense, and no longer needing to keep those walls up. it's not gonna be easy, i'm literally having my own ongoing healing process in regards to my PTSD, and progress isn't linear, but i never wanna say that it's hopeless or to say someone is "beyond" positive change
and going back to the think about feeling like he has to prove himself, yes i'm aware that's more of a personal interpretation of his character, but as someone who has felt that i needed to earn the love of others, that shit fucks with your head. i'm doing better now, i don't wanna like. concern anybody yk. but i think a lot about brian reaching a point in which he recognizes he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone and that he has inherent value simply by existing
i'd have fun playing chess with him too. i absolutely suck at it but i'd enjoy learning with him and getting so invested in the game and him Seeing i'm just as invested as he is and being able to enjoy himself. finally, a worthy opponent. our chess battle will be legendary.
also he's agender to me. yes this is another one of my Own ideas that i project onto him but agender brian is peak to me. Gender: No. me too buddy me too

mouthpiece - she'd probably laugh and in a sweet granny voice say "that's no way to treat your elders!" and suplex you with the force of the chicxulub asteroid impact without a second thought and it turns your bones and skin into glass and paper like that spongebob character
gatekeeper - i think she'd just stand there and let you make the first punch but then your knuckles break against her suit of armor and she'd then laugh before wiping the floor with you
pacesetter - "you're too slow! you're too slow! you're too slow! you're t"
multislacker - literally doesn't care. will probably just call security and get you thrown down the many many stairs leading to their office
witch hunter - he'd probably get annoyed, shout a long string of verbose insults at you, and sic a whole mob on you
