GUNDAM, LET'S DO IT!

obviously i have barely scratched the surface with getting into this franchise! please bear w me as i keep going; i thought a spot to ramble & post metas & analysis & theories alongside ic writing would be fun: thus, this blog's creation. there might be more ooc and liveblogging on this blog than my other blogs because of this!

spoilers are not tagged unless you want me to use a catch-all or if you ask for spoilers for a specific series to be tagged; please don't hesitate to ask though if you want them tagged, i genuinely don't mind! for those who are more familiar with the franchise than i am: i don't mind spoilers for anything unless it's new or currently releasing (like the hathaway movies or GQUX).

21+ only. mutuals only. my hope is to write threads that exceed 1-2 replies with people with the goal of hopefully finishing one every once in a while. slowness is totally acceptable. i won't always be sending in new asks or writing new starters if i feel we have other things that should be explored/written together first. my ultimate goal is to see threads at least even halfway-through to make sure dynamics can be fleshed out farther than the initial 'setting' or 'scenario' post.

my preferred/default style of writing on the dash is usually: break the ice with a starter or an ask, write the starter thread between our muses for ideally somewhere like 5-ish replies, then jump around the timeline/plot more ooc from there once we get an idea of what the initial dynamic might look like. a first writing thread doesn't have to be a first interaction (esp if our characters know each other canonically). everyone writes their muses differently, this is just to make sure our writing styles vibe

i am very comfortable writing conflict and fights and muses who hate each other. i am comfortable winging threads and just throwing new plot ideas into the mix to see if they stick. i try to balance internalization with externalization in my replies so i can explore my muses' internal worlds but also give my partner something concrete to reply to.

i don't interact with mains calls, affiliates calls, dynamic calls, shipping calls, etc. i also don't tend to like plotting calls with new mutuals, the reason for this is because i find ooc chatting is sometimes used in substitute of writing ic together, and that's not what i want from rp. my partner is spirestar and we live together irl so they will inevitably feature more often on my blog. i do not practice any form of rp exclusivity. i expect chemistry in shipping and tend to only ship with people i am friends with.

dark content and adult themes are welcome to be explored and will be written with courtesy and nuance. GUNDAM IS A SERIES ABOUT WAR. i am not interested in writing incest, minor/adult ships, or graphic depictions of sexual assault. these things being included in your muse's backstory or impacting them somehow is fine. triggers are tagged "cw tag //" . nsfw content is put under a read-more and tagged as "usft //" . suggestive material is not put under a read-more and tagged "suggestive //" . please use generic nsfw tags for your own nsfw instead of a fancy one. muse ages differ depending on character verses. to use amuro as an example, i prefer to write him from before-zeta to CCAish (18-29), but i might still write the occasional thread featuring 0079-era amuro (15). just use common sense about this.

it is worth mentioning i like charmuro and the romantic entanglement (but not necessarily the relationship) of char/lalah/amuro so keep that in mind before following if those are things you want to avoid.

i don't care about graphics or formatting as long as it is simple and legible. please note that formatting that a lot of people consider to be "par for the course" in rp tumblr circles is not usually readable for me.

i tend to follow blogs that typically have more ic than ooc content, or, if there is more ooc than ic, it is rp or muse related or a meta/headcanon/etc. post. a fast-paced dash with lots of ooc is overwhelming for me. i do not follow people who vent a lot or post excessive negativity.

i am very crossover, oc, and duplicate-friendly. i do not tend to follow duplicates first on my singlemuse blogs just in case people aren't comfy with duplicates. my multimuse is a spot for muse exploration and voice testing so if you are not duplicate friendly please note i can't promise i won't ever write your muse, even if that's just for a singular thread.

i softblock if it seems like we aren't going to write ic together, there is no interest in my writing or my muses being conveyed (to me this can be as simple as liking my ooc meta/headcanon posts), or if there have been attempts made at getting threads going for more than 1-2 replies but they don't seem to carry longer than that (basically, if it seems like our 'wants' out of being on rp tumblr aren't meshing). if you state in your rules you prefer a hardblock i will hb you. you are always welcome to write me things or send things in. you don't have to wait for a starter call to be made to interact with me. if you feel you are putting more effort into engaging with me that isn't being reciprocated you are welcome to msg me about it. i try to mix up who i am replying to when i'm going through my drafts but sometimes things slip through the cracks (and frankly i rarely delete things from my drafts so i have a ton of them). i typically try to juggle my reply speed based off your own activity level to prevent either one of us from getting overwhelmed, so this means if you are slow, i try to also be slow, but i never want people to feel like they're being ignored.

you are welcome to hoard asks or not reply to threads for weeks, months, or even years. i just ask that i feel that there is continued interest in my writing and my blog. if that interest dies at any point, please just sb me. i never take it personally

( 🐈 ) : how does your muse ask for affection without directly asking for it?

char is one of those characters who is like "i simply do not need affection" and somehow genuinely believes himself when he says that. he's very good at lying to himself and believing he can exist in ways he's not actually wired for. in essence, her simply existing in the same room as someone else, following them but lingering on the other side and not speaking, is the closest char gets to outwardly asking for affection. like a cat honestly in this way char has some envy over people who are able to use their newtype powers for connection so easily and without being, idk, embarrassed?? because for him his latent powers awakening during moments of such intense grief for him (essentially being one-upped by amuro and then losing lalah) have made it difficult for him to willfully connect with that side of herself without feeling some sort of cagey way about it. char is kind of implied to not be as versed in her newtype powers as amuro is and i believe it's an extension of grief. so even though char champions everyone should get used to their newtype abilities and embrace them as being next steps in human evolution, she's too scared to apply the logic to herself, because it means she can't exist under masks anymore and has to be honest that he wants things more than simply passing his father's legacy on.

( 🦥 ) : what does your muse refuse to rush, no matter the consequences?

char is extraordinarily patient but this kind of shoots him in the foot. he is very willing to wait for prime opportunities before she jumps into things, and as such, misreads situations, or by that point has reinvented himself so fully that the opportunity he was waiting for is no longer available to the 'him' that he currently is. this worked out very well on the battlefield, but not so much beyond that. or even with her major plan of killing off all of the zabis because she only killed a grand total of two of them. the rest of them all killed each other via infighting. kind of a major L for your supposed master plan char

AMURO

( 🦂 ) : what boundary, once crossed, changes your muse forever?

the obvious answer is the death of lalah, but that's an easy one. so. i think his mother basically disowning him is another one that comes to mind. amuro is the type of guy who happens to view the bulk of his relationships as transactional: he receives something (validation, usually emotional) in return for giving something--and on the white base, he finds the thing he has to give is easily understood. he is expected to pilot the gundam. he is expected to fight. in return, people love him. or at least tolerate him. he only had one friend before that, and it was because fraw bow has the patience of a saint. kinda looping back to the whole newtype = neurodivergency thing. he's spent so long out of odds with other people and not understanding what they want from him, but now he understands. he doesn't like it; he hates the gundam, he hates piloting it, he spends every second fearing for his life...but at least this way people praise him. with even his mother turning her back on him after he can't understand what she wants from him, he finds comfort in the gundam's cockpit and in being its pilot, even if it's a very temporary comfort that he often ends up resenting.
