last night, BLU held a gathering called Black Love on Display: a poetry slam and art exhibition. i attended the event to support my fellowship and network. i loved how we gathered on a rooftop, listened to music, local poets, danced, ate, and drank. i also loved and enjoyed seeing the paintings and photographs. i felt excited that i was reunited with one of my mentors from the 2017-2018 cohort.

as far as my photography career goes, i’m still brainstorming what my next chapter will be. i have ideas. i wont share them until it’s done. that’s one of the ways i move

for mother’s day, my mom and i visited the barstow outlets. after that, my younger sister and i brought food from sprouts. we cooked baked chicken, green beans, mac and cheese. we also prepped salad, a brownie cake, and apple cider from a cork bottle. we ate and listened to music.

it will be on display at the san bernardino county fair!

this past weekend, i marched in a dr martin luther king jr peace march. i also watched a dr martin luther king jr concert at a local community college. i photographed from a photojournalist perspective and from a fine art photography perspective.

i originally photographed with my nikon dslr camera. i set the camera on top of the family car and turned on the self-timer. i composed the photo in jan 2018. on new year’s day 2020, i posted it on facebook.
