i was in the 2017-2018 cohort fellowship for BLU Educational Foundation. During that time, i attended and participated in workshops that added to my educational growth. i used the knowledge and tools to work on community projects, such as building and mentoring a youth group who cared about their local community in a civic way.
last night, BLU held a gathering called Black Love on Display: a poetry slam and art exhibition. i attended the event to support my fellowship and network. i loved how we gathered on a rooftop, listened to music, local poets, danced, ate, and drank. i also loved and enjoyed seeing the paintings and photographs. i felt excited that i was reunited with one of my mentors from the 2017-2018 cohort.
as far as my photography career goes, iâm still brainstorming what my next chapter will be. i have ideas. i wont share them until itâs done. thatâs one of the ways i move
