It's true that there's a common characteristic among riders: to show that they're always very strong or that nothing affects them, but I see it differently. If I show myself as I feel in that moment and externalize my emotions, it seems like I show a certain weakness, but I see it as a strength. That's why I share it this way with people. I can't pretend. This doesn't mean that when I say I'm wondering if it's worth getting back on the bike, I'm lying, especially if I recover and come back. We're simply human and we have our own mental battles. We're normal people who like speed and adrenaline. We must know how to have that dual personality or dual character; I recognize that it's important, to be who we are and, once we put on the helmet, to be a completely different person, to go into competition mode. But we cannot forget that when we take off our helmets again we are people, and everything affects us.
