Reports have surfaced suggesting Cheryl has become ‘exasperated’ by partner Liam Payne.

According to reports, the former X Factor judge is frustrated as their ten year age difference becomes increasingly obvious.

The pair first met when the Wolverhampton singer was just 14-years-old.

The future One Direction star auditioned for a part on the X Factor while Cheryl was a judge back in 2008.

Following Cheryl’s split with husband Jean Fernandez-Versini in 2015, she posed for a cosy selfie with Liam just months later and the couple announced the arrival of their son Bear in March this year.

Despite their long history, it seems not everything has been plain-sailing for their romance and Cheryl’s friends believe the lengthy age-gap between them is to blame.

According to the Mirror, the claims come after Liam, 23, has made a series of embarrassing comments about his and Cheryl’s personal life.

The 1D star recently said: ‘We haven’t started lullabies yet, but [Bear] loves the telly and my Mrs has got the Kardashians on all the time. I don’t mind watching a little bit of the Kardashians, but I don’t want him looking at it and being like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s what we should do.’

Cheryl, 34, is good friends with Khloe Kardashian and has described her in the past as having ‘such a big heart and a very special soul.’ Her friends say she has been left ‘exasperated’ by Liam’s comments.

A source revealed to Closer magazine: ‘It’s got to the point where Cheryl’s having to pull Liam on lots of things he says.

‘Pals concerned the age gap may be starting to show.’

The insider also reveals Cheryl ‘doesn’t like to talk about’ how the pair first met.

They continued: ‘When Cheryl first got with Liam, their chemistry quashed any doubts over the age difference, and she fell pregnant with Bear when they were still in the honeymoon phase.

‘But now things seem different and Cheryl’s had a bit of reality check.

‘She loves Liam deeply, but has come to realise how different they are.
