Baby goes in and out of phases of “clinginess” (dont really like that word for it, she is a literal helpless baby & not a maladjusted adult with attachment issues) but rn i can just leave her in the crib to play with a burp cloth or something and eat my entire breakfast or put her on the floor while i practice piano for like 20 minutes and it’s great. Dreading when she learns to crawl (any day now) bc these easy times will be finito

I make my daughter’s purees in batches tgat i freeze in ice cube trays to defrost and mix ingredients together. Today i told husband to make her an ube + plum + vanilla almond milk mix for breakfast and he accidentally made her an ube + salmon + vanilla almond milk breakfast and it was the first thing she ever rejected! Excited by the idea that she’s developing a palate.

Yesterday i made her an avocado salmon nectarine lunch and she loved it. Sounds kind of crazy but its like a nice ceviche in puree form.

Tbh i love making her food. I kind of fucked up bc i missed the memo on starting with single ingredient purees and i have already exposed her to almost every allergen.

Also fuck baby-led weaning. Sorry but my baby isnt the leader of anything. Some people want to go through the horror ritual of a baby throwing and smearing food everywhere 3x/day but its not for me. I spoon feed her. For a girl who puts everything in her mouth she has a zero percemt success rate of getting food in there on her own. Its shocking honestly

Husband cooks me breakfast every morning. Tortilla with plum butter and two sunny side up eggs and a sriracha message. Usually “I love you” or “[baby] loves you” or “you are a good mom” or something. If we have an argument “I’m sorry” or “our love will win”

Therapi and medication were bad for me

Babies are all so different. I’m just shocked there are Doona/Nuna babies out there. Car seat stroller attachment babies and people who can and even plan their day to nap their babies in the car. Not shaming, just genuinely perplexed because mine fucking hates the car seat more than anything ever. Absolutely despises that shit. Has fallen asleep maybe 2-3 times there in the past 6 months.

I was told it might b really hard for me to get pregnant bc of PCOS and then I got pregnant like 1 month after stopping birth control

yesterday a kid accidentally hit my baby with a water balloon and she cried for like 45 seconds and I cried like. Over and over. Even today! Baby is fine, was not hurt at all.

Probably unsurprising, but I do not ever use a nursing cover or remove myself from any situation to breastfeed. I think one time at a party full of old people I didn’t really know well I did.
