i myself don't know why, people usually have a convincing reason as to why their favorite movies are their favs, sometimes it's nostalgia, sometimes its the story, the worldbuilding, the movie making them feel comfortable, or the movie just being a complete masterpiece.

i'm not saying it's "the best", im saying it's my fav, this is in no way ranking, yes, i've watched interstellar, peak shit, but hellboy is still my favorite.

this movie is hated, apparently, bc it's an abomination compared to the comics, they chopped off hellboy's character, personality, and looks, compared to the comics.

except i had no problem with anything they were criticizing, i liked the makeup, even though many hated it, i liked hellboy's personality, i liked how crammed the story was, how many stuff they covered, even though the comic fans said that the writers tried to cover hellboy's entire story in one movie, so me not knowing squat about the comics existence made me enjoy the movie more, i had no expectation of what it "should" be like

i also liked it because i seen the french dub first, french dubs make anything better, the vulgar expressions and curse words come out comical instead of making the character look edgy and "tuff".

i dont remember much of the music but "beat the devil's tattoo" by black rebel motorcycle club (silly band name) is still among my fav songs ever
