hey, is translating japanese to english that hard? not asking to be rude, im genuinely curious. have a nice break! ^^

No no! It’s fine! It can be difficult depending on the artist’s style themselves. You also have to take into account the deciphering of handwriting, because as with every person they each have their own unique style and at times it can read like chicken scratch XD. Not to mention with Kanji (The really complex looking symbols) one wrongly placed stroke/or line can change the entire meaning of the word and therefore sentence; so I have to be very careful in reading and understanding what the artist’s are writing.

But the biggest hurdle for me isn’t so much the translation part but the editing part just due to the fact that I want the Manga’s I replicate the original artist’s style as CLOSE as possible. So it’s really not so much the language but making sure I can honor their original ideas and designs. Depending on the layout of the artstyle this can range from really simple to EXTREMELY complicated. I’ll insert a page I’m currently working on vs the original, as it’s the editing that’s taking me QUITE a while to finish just due to the overall complexity of the background/art design.

So here you can kinda see the differences between the two and just how much time/effort it takes to stick to the original art. Multiple patterns are going on at once here and so it’s my job to ensure that the page appears as unaltered as possible ^_^Anyways!
