Why would I ever do that when I can grow and be better and happier?

Dating someone with money is all fun and games, but there’s a time to get serious. Yes, going shopping at Chanel and staying at 5 star resorts are amazing but always make sure you’re SECURING the bag. When I say secure I mean obtain things along the way that’ll be of value in case you all break up. Even if you all stay together and get married, you should still want to increase your net worth as well. Here are some examples of things to secure while dating someone wealthy:

Education - if he’s not paying your tuition, leave him! Jk (not really) but an education is something no one can ever take from you and a degree can open up so many doors and opportunities for you.

Stocks - before buying another YSL, ask your significant other for a stock in a reputable company like Amazon, Berkshire, Walmart, etc. Having shares in stocks like these as assets will not only increase your personal net worth, but if you two were to breakup (which I hope you don’t) you can still hold on to that stock or sell it for $$$

Property - now, this is a hefty investment but hey, if you’re with someone that can afford it why not? 🤷🏽‍♀️ Always read the fine print to ensure the property belongs to YOU and only you.

Knowledge - this is different from education. When I refer to knowledge, I mean having your partner teach you the game of financial wealth. If he is a real estate tycoon, learn the ropes. If he is a top notch investor, learn the game of investing. Now this all depends on if you have a man that’s generous enough to share the knowledge with you. Honestly, some men don’t want you be as knowledgeable or successful as them. If you’re with someone like that, don’t be so obvious when trying to learn. Ask questions about how their work day was while on dates, but don’t be too invasive. Listen in while he’s on the phone with clients and Skype meetings. Pay attention to what he says around his peers. See what books are in his home office. Pick up on as much knowledge and financial literacy while you’re together. If he is nice enough to share the knowledge, then be transparent with him about wanting to learn.

Items that appreciate in value - if you’re going to ask for things, make sure to ask for items that appreciate value. For example - Hermès bags, vintage wine, jewelry, diamonds, and high end art. These are just broad examples so please do research before asking for them so you ask and receive the right item.

My point is that you don’t want to just date someone with a high net worth. You also want to increase yours in the process. Weather you marry this person or the relationship only lasts for a season, secure your bag along the way. ✨💰
