Somebody said it was Virgo Season. This birthday was different, but like them all, it taught me many lessons. Starting over isn't easy, but it is worth it when it comes to your growth as a person. Richland Elementary got me spoiled. PTO blessed new teachers with a $75 Amazon gift card. PTO got me a cupcake and soup cup for my birthday. Today a 2nd grader and her mom brought me homemade cookies during dismissal. She remembered my birthday and made her mom bake them. It was precious! The entire school students and adults wished me a happy birthday. I was reminded that the little moments sometimes make the biggest memories. As you see, I'm just now going through my goodie bag from the kickoff. SCS is not playing. A t-shirt, mask, umbrella, water bottle, journal, Teach Like a Champion Field Guide, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain (one of my favorite books), Text Complexity, a portable charger, and popcorn!!!!! Don't judge me. I ate most of the Sweet Butter Caramel popcorn, but I am currently at the gym. I'm slicked excited about the umbrella. Haven't had one in two years. There are times when I know exactly what to say. There are times when I pray and ask God to give me the right words or help me to share the words of others. I am fully vaccinated. I chose to do so because I suffered from the virus last March, and I watched loved ones suffer (some even passed away), but read myth 7 over and over again. I did 4 months of research and praying before deciding to get vaccinated. I will continue to wear my mask. Please be safe people.
