Like, Poseidon’s whole thing is the fact he's avenging his son (among other things if I recall correctly) because Odysseus blinded him; which not only is a reason on why Odysseus and his crew stay on Circe's island for so long because Poseidon would just kill them, but also mirrors Odysseus' state as a father and wanting to meet his son while Poseidon is also a father who's trying to avenge and protect his son.

Also, the reason why Poseidon was shown to be so petty and harsh is because that's what the ocean was. It could be calm in one moment, and completely violent in the next. It's unpredictable, like Poseidon’s temper, and that fear of the ocean that the Greeks had trickled down onto Poseidon’s myths, like his role in the Odyssey.

Zeus coming up on Helios' island and killing Odysseus' crew isn't only a cruel punishment for them eating Helios' cows, but also symbolizes the punishment you'll recieve if you steal from a land that isn't even yours; they were guests at Helios' island, but they were still the ones that offended him and broke Xenia (the laws of hospitality).

Hermes helping Odysseus by giving him the moly in Aeaea is to represent his domain among travelers. The Greeks believed him to be kind (usually, though sometimes changes) to travelers, so of course, with Odysseus being a traveler at that point, he'd help his great grandson.

No amour on Athena in any scene, even her white statue that should've been painted.

Skipped lots of important scenes and made stupid mistakes such as Agamemnon's death scenes being completely invorrect.

NO VEILS???? All married women (mainly rich and important women wore veils when married) and it could've added to the plot.

Modern language and not a single Greek word, linear B was the language thought to be used around the time and adding a servant holding a slate with linear B on would've made a nice detail.

I need Agamemnon's helmet. Though I wish they kept his face dark the entire film.
