[ matthew noszka, cismale, he/him ] have you seen CHRISTIAN CARTER lately ? yeah, i heard they're 24 years old and a BUSINESSMAN now in charleston city . i mean, i don’t know if it’s their GEMINI vibes or that they’re -GULLIBLE and -DRAMATIC but also +RELIABLE and +SPONTANEOUS but they remind me of MY EX’S BEST FRIEND by MACHINE GUN KELLY . here’s to hoping they don’t cause too much trouble around here .

𝑪𝑱 : since this face is gonna be plastered around town , might as well break the news . .

𝑪𝑱 : left the family business and now i'm starting my own so i actually needed his help .

    “perhaps a little time together in the dark will give you a reason not to be afraid of it,” ky replies with a bit of soft laughter, returning the smile. they had never been afraid of the dark, if only because ever since she was little, kylie was always taught to see the beauty of it. the stars that lit up night skies, how the world could be anything you created, and as they got older, it also became a security blanket. dark brown eyes watched the male speak, a soft smile resting on their lips, following alongside him. his proposal of buying drinks instead made their smile grow; she couldn’t help the soft giggle that left her lips, “it’s a deal, stranger. but, fair warning,  if you’re drinking to forget the stories, i hope you’re ready to drink for a while. i don’t guarantee i won’t come up with some scary stories of my own; who knows, the ones we hear tonight might inspire me,” ky teased, playfully winking, before turning their attention to the campfire and group ahead. “i’m kylie, by the way.”

     nights off were rare for kylie. whether or not she was clocked on, the brunette found that they often ended up at their place of work anyway. tonight they were determined to make a different choice, no matter how much the universe tried to gravitate them towards work, and so, she found herself looking up various halloween activities to do around town. search after search, click after click, every event seemed better than the last. it wasn’t until an ad for the annual ‘ghostly tide tales’ at the beach popped up that kylie finally decided on what to do this evening, and they won’t mention how it took them two hours to decide. 

     grabbing one of her halloween sweaters, throwing on spider web legging, and her pumpkin-shaped mini backpack, they headed out towards their destination. they didn’t hesitate to give reptar, their bearded dragon, a little treat before leaving, either just in case kylie found themselves grabbing a drink or two after the ghostly tales. after, it wasn’t too long of a journey to the beach, taking an uber out of laziness of not wanting to drive.

     upon arriving at the beach, the campfire’s light could be seen in the distance; it wasn’t hard to spot where the event was taking place. suddenly, ky wished someone was with her. everyone seemed to be with someone; whether it was a date or a friend, everyone had someone to chat with or get close with during the stories. as they pull their phone out to see if anyone will pop out at her to call up right now, the presence of someone approaching pulled her attention from the brightly lit screen. what could it hurt to ask? worst this person could say was 'no,’ right?

     "hey,“ she calls out, walking up to meet this person halfway, "listen, this is a bit, well no, it is random,” a soft chuckle leaves their crimson-colored lips, “so, there’s this thing, kind of lame, maybe, it’s over by the campfire you see,” they point to the beach, “it’s called 'ghostly tide tales,’ and for an hour they are going to be telling ghost stories while roasting s'mores. when i decided to come...i didn’t think pretty much all the people attending would be in a pair. and, well, it feels weird for me to show up a little late and not with anyone.” the more kylie spoke, the more embarrassed they felt for not having planned this properly, “would you be interested in joining me over there for the next hour? i was going to get some drinks after, which you’re also invited to, and i’d be happy to pay for one to make up for this.”

Odette stood on the beach, watching the blond mini-her going absolutely buckwild with cartwheels, backflips, and cheer routines. “I don’t know how she does that,” she muttered, shaking her head. “If I tried that I’d be face first immediately.”​​
