I see most people depicting them as father/son but honestly I see em more as extremely irresponsible older brother who didn’t ask to take care of his younger sibling and younger sibling who’s trying his best to meet his older brothers expectations.

In my headcanon land 1x4 just kinda popped into existence randomly, clinging to Shed immediately upon entering existence. In canon they’re like a manifestation of Shed’s hatred so that’s what I’m gonna do here; they’re not human, but they’re made of a human emotion and made from a human.

I Imagine when they first came into existence Shed wasn’t exactly stoked to be forced to take care of smth. At first he just left them alone at home for long periods of time, doing his own thing and trying to ignore them. At some point he tried to pawn em off on other people but at the end of the day 1x4 continued to cling to him and reject the people that were tasked with caring for them.
