I regained consciousness with a melody in my head, which I then translated over into the guitar, and I wrote my first song for Stella. I haven’t written a song in years.

Así empezó nuestro viaje a la Huasteca Potosina; llegamos de CDMX a SLP, luego manejamos a Cd. Valles, donde nos hospedamos. Selva tropical o sierra boscosa, ya ni sé. El punto es que estuvo muy verde y muy verga jaja, me dieron ganas de comprar un terreno para andar paseando por las muchas joyas que ofrece la Huasteca y romantizar la vida de campo, comiendo frutas y haciendo poco. ¿será un sueñó güajiro? creo que sí, pero se vale soñar.

Real de Catorce deserves its own post; although it was a day trip (with 8 hours driven total), it's definitely in my top two Pueblos Magicos; it felt like no other place I'd ever visited; it felt like we went back in time, and also like I was in a Mexican Revolution movie. Definitely magical; I know I would return and spend the night, maybe even days, just wandering its cobblestone streets and overlooking its cliffs, maybe even on a romantic getaway (which it almost turned into with Agnes). A truly inspiring & romantic place; you never know what's hiding in this country.

It's been a week since I got back from the trip, and I'm barely processing everything by posting these photos and writing about it. It had been ten years since I last went, but now I was able to really immerse myself in it's essence. I have family in this city (who I didn't see), so I know it won't be my last time here. Whenever I go back, I know I will remember this trip fondly.
