Is He an Adult?

When I heard we were shooting at the bar, I thought it was a mistake (laugh). I'm old at age, but overall I tends to think like a child. I have child tongue, I prefer junk food and soda, Its impossible to imagine a dating in the bar. The amusement park date seems to be more better...

Because I rarely wear suit, when I wear it in stage greetings everyone will said, "Is something wrong happen?" (laugh). I'm far from adult image I had imagined long time ago. I was thinking after the age of 20 beer will taste good automatically, after the age of 30 I'll interested in golf, but none of that happened. But recently after the age of 40 I become able to drink whisky. The other day Director-san took me to the whisky bar for the first time. The master told me about whiskey, and I got hooked on it compare with normal drinking. I'll buy it on Amazon soon, so I can have something to enjoy at home.

Ever since I debuted as voice actor, I have reputation that I don't have sex appeal (laugh). A few years ago when I was doing radio show with Ryohei Kimura-kun, I remembered than Kimura-kun just have female fans and I just have male fans. We envy each other.  I have been playing a lot of high school student characters for a long time, but recently the adult role has increased, finally little by little a lot of people said "it's sexy". But still, I don't think myself as sexy adult at all. Even in adult role, I don't aware playing it as sexy.

As my motto, I just want to make sure that I didn't show my weakness in the character I played. When everyone see ending credit and realizing "Ah this voice was Asanuma" is enough for me. Even for people who don't know me, I want you to like the character, and I want you to see the work with the fair eyes. I can see my own performance objectively, but I'm not aware the reasons for character to be popular and what part of it that appeal to the girls. So if viewers is pleased by me playing without realizing it, I think I will stay as it is. 

Speaking of a sexy man, Kenjiro Tsuda-san (While looking at Seiyuu Junon vol 5 Kenjiro Tsuda photoshot) so sexy... (laugh)

(^^^^ he means this photoshot of Tsudaken) The atmosphere and the clothes he dressed in, but more importantly his voice is really sexy. 90% of the "good voice" that girls like is "low and sexy tough voice". I really longing for it since I have a high voice. I think that sex appeal come from that person way of living. It's not about love experience, but what kind of person you met, what kind of setbacks and growth you experience and how have you lived you life. It might be a way of laughing, a gesture,  I wonder if it comes naturally like that. Well, I don't think it comes from food though (laugh). If you eat something and you can become as sexy as Tsudaken-san, you will hear "What did you eat today?" asked a lot (laugh). For me maybe because I was late at debut [Asanuma's debut as voice actor when he was 30 years old], I was late to become an adult more that everyone else. I remembered drinking after 40 and it feels "Finally♪" I can't believe I become an adult (laugh). I wonder if have a lot point of view is also my strength. I learn through drinking that I can find my favorite things and hobbies at this age. I feel that somebody pushed my back and said "Even now it's never too late". So I  have come to thinking something new to be interested in. What I want to try as a hobby is cooking. When you're troubled by love or work, when you're worries to much and your head feeling hot, it is said that cooking is the best way to clear your mind. When I find something fun I start thinking if I can take it as a play. [n/ play in this mean "stage play" because Asanuma also work as script writer/director in stage play]  When I watching TV, read a book, go to a hot spring, there is always time I thought about the play, and my head was about to burst. Thats why I want my head to be clear and a based the information I get the good method to do that is by cooking. I wish I could be good at it to the level that I can make mind clear (laugh).
