Why does my first time writing feel like my actual first time? Like idk where to start, what to doooo
As always with writing, start with general (outline, ideas, etc.) then narrow down to specific (the fic itself).
First, start with who and what you want to write. Either it can be a thought that popped up in your head that you really really liked or a picture you saw that instantly gave you an idea of something to write. For example, Aeong I was watching Hyeju on Girls Re:Verse and how she plays a cat there so boom, catgirl Hyeju. Then there's LLLL, a picture of Kim Lip holding her tongue out, boom, blowjob fic.
Second, make an outline or a rough draft of what you want to write, it doesn't have to be an outline of the whole fic, more on this later. For my fics, I generally like to have build-up towards the action itself, so I plan out how I want to do that first. Just general ideas, no need to write out paragraphs or sentences right away.
In Spared, the idea started off as succubus Yves. While the story could have easily been Yves fucking OC right away, to me that's kinda boring, like what's the point of making her a succubus when the story wouldn't be different if she was a succubus or not, so, build-up. Anyway, I was thinking of how would OC meet Yves, while OC could just be someone Yves randomly sets her eyes on, it feels rather generic (nothing wrong with that either, I just don't want to write generic build-ups/cliches, I like to make it a little more interesting). That's when it popped in my head that OC can break Yves out of some sort of prison which makes him a reliable first target.
Great, I have my set-up, now for the main action itself. I thought, Yves is a succubus, I wanna lean in to that. So I looked up how succubi powers work, how different interpretations of succubi acted, and whatnot. The main thing is that they appear in dreams, which immediately gave me the idea of doing parallels between demon Yves in the 'real world' and a pristine seductress in OC's head. Cool, I have a general idea of how I want my story to go, so onto writing.
Third, don't write linearly. What I mean by that is, don't focus on writing the start to finish in a straight line. You can work on the start, you can work on the middle, you can work on the end, and anywhere in between. Then when you're doing writing the "major parts" that's when you bridge them all together.
Fourth, to hell with the previous three things (not really but just sort of). You don't have to force yourself into a narrow spot when writing, just write what you feel like fits the best in the story. Let's say for example, if you thought that a forest was a great setting for your fic and you've started writing a whole chunk of the beginning but then you come up with a better setting to use? Then use it. You don't have to stick to what you have, that's the thing about creative writing, you write whatever. You think this part doesn't fit? Remove it. You think this would be a nice thing to put here? Add it. You think your fic is moving a little too slow? Speed it up. You think things are moving too fast? Slow it down.
Fifth, if you don't know what to write or if you can't write anything, two things, force yourself to write and don't force yourself to write. For the first one, just write whatever it is that's in your head, every idea, every sentence, anything at all, just put it down on your draft and then just remove what doesn't feel write afterwards. Basically, "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks." As for the second, if you really can't write, then just pause for a moment, do something else, do anything else that isn't writing. Then when inspiration or motivation hits you, that's when you start writing again.
