what was the inspo behind everyones' online/stage names?
Raku: Sooo it's a combo of my initials and some nicknames that my spouse gave me. RA - Rebecca Ann. KUMA - Bear (one of my nicknames). ROO - for Kangaroo (another of my nicknames). It should technically be pronounce ruh-koo-muh-roo but people started saying rah-koo-mar-oo and then Raku (rah-koo) so it's just evolved into that lol
Quail: Made up on the spot while playing Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army with some friends. When the game asked for a name for Raidou, I, as the one with a controller, just put something in. Quail came from nothing, just happened to appear in the noggin. Spinch came form the meme image of a buffet with some spinach, but the label beneath it read "spinch." Post that play thourgh I adopted it into my online presence.
Paumé: Paumé means to be Lost in French. LaTombe comes from a combination of my mother's maiden name the word Tomb. My name used to be Lost due to having a hard time identifying myself with a single name + Ghost, since I'm very quiet and often forgotten in everyday life. I just made it more of a name as time went on.
Jrox: Growing up my nickname was jrock and I wanted to make the name a little more cool so I replaced the ck with and x.
Shouhei: While making my VTuber/persona oc, I had picked what I thought best fit my character design. 昌平 (Shouhei) means peace and tranquility. 曇り (Kumori) means cloudiness or cloudy weather. I associated his fluffy white hair and fur to a cloud, then that got me thinking to work the dragon-like aspect into his design. I love the aesthetic of a Japanese dragon flying around in the misty mountains. So all of that brought an air element/vibe to my design.
Luna: If we want the LOOOONG story, my online user has always had Luna in it. Basically I was like 8 years old on clash of clans and I really liked MLP so Princess Luna. This eventually evolved to HopelessLuna, because I hit a Danganronpa phase and wanted to be lowkey about it. The Eclipse came in when I wanted to be a VTuber as a cute last name. My sona is a witch since… idk I guess I just always thought of myself being a mage or wizard or magical spell caster. And Halloween witches are cute! But I thought Danganronpa was cool and niche so I based my bangs off Ibuki Mioda, one of my fave characters from the series. And now everybody points it out… I didn’t have many ideas back then since I had to create this sona suddenly for a singing project back then, so I just threw together a few random things I liked and called it a day and the design has evolved over time as more of my friends draw me and I find things I like about each interpretation.
Aspen: Aspen has a whole lore sort of thing BUT when I was selecting his name, I KNEW I wanted his last name to be Russell, like a jack russell terrier, the dog he's primarily based upon. Aspen was a cute name often used for dogs that is gender neutral, so that's why I chose it! As for the username, without getting into the whole Aspen lore dump, "lesser" comes from Canis Minor, aka Lesser Dog, the constellation that plays as a motif for him. Also lowkey haha Undertale reference :P "koinu" is the Japanese word for puppy, so… lesserkoinu! :3
Cloudi: I went through a few names on this here internet before reaching Cloudi. I got inspired by GDBEE's art of a black girl with clouds for hair. That picture inspired a potential OC for a pngtuber, but I wanted them to have different aesthetics that changed with the seasons/holidays. Thus, I made Cloudi (and Raini, Sunni, Stormi, and Snowi)! Cloudi is nephelai (cloud nymph) that goes through changes in style and personality with the seasons.
Tobio: i'm just stealing the names of characters i like 😔 i don't exactly have a sentimental backstory for it AHAHAHAAA but i currently really like the name i'm using (lance) :D
