Directed by Boaz Yakin This was a rewatched, I remembered it being girly, funny and gloomy. It still is, only now I see codependency goes hard. I loved these two girls together! I would have appreciated seeing later work of them as matured actresses. In another reality, perhaps. Anyway, a chill watch with mellow design sets. For a Tuesday or a Sunday, it gives cheers.

Elizabeth Berkley in ‘Showgirls’ (1995) Directed by Paul Verhoeven I’m not sure what I was expecting. The story is a ride, pretty design sets and overrated (?) nudity. Towards the end things went south, the closing pushed through, it’s an exhausting life. Watch it on a Saturday night if you’re staying in (: ❤

Brawl at Cell Block 99 (2017)

Honestly, I judged this badly for its color scheme. But dude, talk about getting the job done. Vince Vaughn goes all out. There is a pleasure in seeing actors go for nontraditional roles and Vince convinced me. There is violence. Watch it on a Thursday night!

well, what the fuck. the feeling burns deep. and yunno even though I grew up knowing the existence of this film. It isn’t until now that I am watching it for the first time. And living after covid, all I can say is, gross. Other than that I think it captures the essence of youth for some. It is harsh, fast, and beating. Watch it on a Friday night! or Sunday, after mass.

The Florida Project, 2017

Directed by Sean Baker. The colors! The colors! It adds contrast & magic to the isolated scenery.  The kids exploring the ruins, finding ways to take up the day.  A story that kind of sinks slow & brutally, conveying a well too known situation; poverty.  Watch it on a Tuesday night with a nice dinner for two.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986)

A great find from @ultrakillblast at twitter. A casual rescue mission with magic and creepy stuff. The soundtrack to this reminded me of Tron. I have not seen Die Hard but I also got that vibe from this. The ending was nice, there was no kiss. oh yeah, directed by John Carpenter ! Watch it on a Sunday afternoon.

A romantic film for junkies. It has its perks because some scenes illustrate the decaying state addictions have. Cool cuts, cheap Great to wash off a Saturday night.

How I sat through this is beyond me.

It’s a commitment because it’s from Edgar Wright.

But, hard to tag along. Maybe I wasn’t empathetic enough towards the main character.

Watch it on a Sunday afternoon, it might drift you to slumber.

As usual, sometimes seeing stills from a certain scene of a movie is what sparks interest to search for it.

This is the case for this anime film.

A coming of age, that narrates the life of a 14-year old transferred student that is tangled to solve a murder of her former classmate, while developing a friendship.

but life surprises you.

After being invited to the movies, not knowing what film was playing, I was not thrilled to find out that it was a biopic. On my way to the theater, I was making up my mind about winking it and just falling asleep. Did not buy any popcorn just because I wanted to doze off faster.
