When he moves in with new roommate Seungcheol, Jeonghan feels like he's gotten into way more than he can handle.

A small nod. “Yes, I’ve started drafting the job posting to find a suitable replacement. Rest assured…”

Mingyu drowns the deep voice of his secretary out as he retrieves the letter of resignation. He pauses to look at it, actually look at it, and proceeds to let out a bark of laughter.

Secretary Jeon pauses his dialogue to stare at his boss, who was bending over with high-pitched laughter. Before he could inquire what the joke was, however, Mingyu walks towards him with the envelope in hand, and roughly rips the the piece of stationery in two.

Jeon Wonwoo is the new, fresh-faced physics teacher at Pointe Pledis Academy, a private school for the rich and the elite. He also happens to be an omega—a rarity, as most males present alpha or beta. Not that anyone will ever find out. As far as anyone knows, he is a beta.

He expects his first year of teaching to consist of hours of lesson planning, never-ending piles of assignments to mark, and attitude from entitled students and parents alike. What he does not expect is Kim Mingyu: alpha, irresistable, and seventeen. Wonwoo finds himself drawn into Mingyu's orbit and unable to break free of the alpha's charms. There's a joke about escape velocity somewhere here, but Wonwoo is too busy sneaking around with his student to formulate one.

Wonwoo pulled up the collar of his jersey and held it to his nose. Like many of the spectators, he was also wearing a jersey that read KIM, 17 across the back. The difference was that while others had purchased their official gear from a store, Wonwoo was wearing Mingyu's actual jersey. He breathed in the alpha pheromones that clung to the shirt, trying to settle his nerves.

(Jun blames his face.

Objectively, it’s a nice face. Symmetrical, well-built, photogenic to the point where his selfies could be considered a new form of contemporary art. It’s his get-out-of-jail-free card at parties and a reliable coupon for the campus convenience store, but it’s also highly problematic because:

1] The entire campus assumes he’s slept with everyone in a two-mile radius. And that’s— far from the truth. He’s only hooked up with three people, one of which was the student council vice president. (He’s still banned from all upcoming school functions.)

2] The only person he actually wants to sleep with is Xu Minghao, and Jun’s better off asking for the moon. Just his luck that the one person completely immune to his good looks is the one he happens to fall for.)

“If you look me in the eye for 10 seconds, you’ll fall in love with me”

“We need you and Wonwoo to play," Minghao says. "Both of you.”

“Me and Wonwoo?” Mingyu asks. “Why both of us?”

Minghao fidgets in that way he always does when he doesn’t want to say whatever comes next.

“It’s…a game about people knowing each other.” He looks away. “Just, like, their knowledge.” His eyes dart back to Mingyu. “As two people who…care about each other.”

They hold eye contact. Minghao blinks.

“This sounds a lot like a game for couples,” Mingyu says. “It sounds like a couples game.”

“Kiiiiiind of,” says Minghao.

“Not kind of,” Mingyu insists. “It sounds exactly like that.”

There’s a pause.

Jihoon wants to bang his poetry professor, not her assistant, but Soonyoung keeps getting in the way of Jihoon’s otherwise perfect plan.

Jihoon takes pride in being in control at court except that behind the confident façade, Soonyoung has him wrapped around his finger too easily it’s almost laughable.

Mingyu’s dressed in all-black again, a long henley shirt and ripped jeans, and his hair is pushed back in a way that looks almost-effortless but Wonwoo knows can’t have been — he’s a poster child for cool and handsome. But he keeps giggling loudly and coughing on cigarette smoke and there’s something in Wonwoo that likes the juxtaposition.

“Your name is Mingyu, right?” Wonwoo asks, turning to face the other boy.

Mingyu nods, flicking the cigarette to get rid of the ash. “Surprised you remember.”

“I — you were memorable,” Wonwoo finishes the sentence in a mumble, suddenly aware that it sounds like a line.

Mingyu leans back on the couch and cocks his head to the side, that infuriating smirk of his appearing on his kiss bitten lips. His black hair is messy and white shirt missing the top three buttons, showing off his obscene collarbones and the clear bite mark on his neck alongside a few scattered hickey's. He opens his mouth to speak and Wonwoo immediately considers pushing the couch down the stairs.

"Admit it, Jeon. You fell for me," he says with a smile.

Wonwoo takes hold of the thing closest to him, it happens to be the stuffed toy to Mingyu's luck, and throws it at the younger, a scandalised expression on his face.

"I didn't fall for you, Mingyu. You fucking tripped me when I walked in!"
