Yeah, the fandom can be toxic. When I was initially in the fandom, I was going through some things (it's a long story). This series did help me get through those days, but the side of the fandom I was on was toxic (as in, victim blaming and abuse justification). I ended up leaving so that I wouldn't become a toxic person since that and what I was going through was putting a toll on my mental health. I'm better now though.

Honestly even that feels a little complicated. The fandom ended up getting super toxic and unfun for me, I had a lot of people really ruin it for me I guess. I got into a really abusive relationship while I was in the fandom and I think that really pushed me away from the fandom; not to mention, at the height of running this blog, I was suuuper unhappy, stressed and depressed. Sometimes I wish I could get back into running the blog and the fandom itself because I still love the characters, story, and the asks that I get sometimes. But it’s so hard getting back to that kind of spot. It sucks because I remember a point in my life where running this blog was the thing getting me up in the morning

I think he’s a really upsetting character, to be honest. His backstory is obviously extremely upsetting and going through what he had, it had obviously affected him but the way that he takes that abuse out on Yui....God man, god. As someone who’s been in abusive relationships and stuff, it is not worth it to be with someone who blames you for little small things that don’t even matter, so obviously he’s honestly one of the worst when it comes to HOW bad he acts out. I think he’s a complicated character who obviously acts out on his trauma but those little glimpses of what could’ve been; the small little sparkle of someone happy and that sucks so much. Getting to see this angry angry man finally get to feel what it means to be happy, it’s such a complicated feeling, y’know? I think it’s very sad when people kinda...dumb him down a bit? Because it really takes away a LOT of his character. I think the thing that makes Kou one of my favorites is that I WANT to see him be better, happier, healthy. As shitty as he is, I want him to experience the nice things in life. It’s complicated, so so complicated. Plus I feel like he could be a decent friend, when he wants to be. Overall I like him a LOT because his emotional and mental turmoil is so complicated. Thank you a lot for asking me this, I really like giving in-depths like this.
