This is a bizarre one. A really bizarre one. I'm holding everyones hands (the same 9 people who consistently like these dev logs i love you) and saying that I'm making ANOTHER game as a PREQUEL to the witch game. This is because I NEEEED to learn how to make an actual game first before doing something ambitious. Makes sense, right? I have a great friend who is a dev and I'm so grateful for that.

We're working in Gamemaker (I was originally bouncing around between platforms) and it'll be in 2D. It'll also be about a VAMPIRE and a THRALL. That's right.. "but where are the witches?!?!!" you exclaim falling to the floor. Fret not, the witches will be around. This is a big foundation for worldbuilding and in particular lore for the Gods designed in previous posts.

The premise of the game is that you, a pathetic little Thrall (first time being dead bless u) have been chosen to serve... THE MISTRESS. THE most notorious Vampire in the land, and she hasn't taken on a thrall in CENTURIES. Why were you chosen you ask? Well, you were the top of the alphabetically organised list. So. Yea.

As you can see this style is drastically different to my usual lowpoly work. 2D games feel much easier and accessible to us right now so here we are! This is my first time making 2D pixel art and I'm really enjoying myself.

Consider this game as Stardew Valley x Wario Ware ... for now . . . hehe..

It's been a long while since my last one (about a month) but big things have changed! I worked on a proof of concept for my own sanity, meaning I cooked up a cutscene that should be in the game. Here it is in little snippets!
