one of the most important things i learned this year is that in the end all we really have is Allah

I find comfort in knowing that at the end of a bad day at least I'll always have the moon to look at. and sometimes that's the only good thing I have at the end of the day, but at least it's something.

i have my grandmother’s smile and my mother’s resiliency and my sister’s fearlessness. i have my father’s eyes and my best friend’s warmth. i am a culmination of every person i’ve ever met. i hold a piece of them with me wherever i go.

the hardest thing is when ur going through something terrible there is an awful middle phase of it when u don’t know if u can get through it or if you’ll ever be okay again and the truth is always you will get through it and you will absolutely be okay again but u just cant see it at the time

i just feel like i'm not allowed to be a mess in front of my family. i'm always having to hold back and minimise and downplay the severity of my mental illness in their presence. how long am i supposed to go on like this for. why is the responsibility to cope all on me and why am i an embarrassment or a disappointment if i slip even for a moment

The urge to say “inshallah” when a non-Muslim says we will see us or do this and that

I THINK YOU KNOW HOW TO LOVE BETTER THAN ANY OF US. THAT’S WHY YOU FIND IT ALL SO PAINFUL.

I hope we can all find a way to live without guilt, no matter how long it takes

it's like i think i'm doing good + then i have a day that just knocks me off from my feet and i'm just that sad and lonely girl that i've always been
