you have this idea in your head that the only time you’re worthy of being loved is when you’re at your best. you’re still worthy of being loved when you’re at your lowest. you’re still worthy of being loved when you don’t want to go on anymore. you are still worthy of being loved even when you don’t love yourself. you are a human and therefore always worthy of being loved and don’t you fool yourself into thinking otherwise.

Can you believe we live in a society where people are kissing Elsa’s ass and viewing her as a great big sister despite neglecting Anna through their whole ass childhood just cause she has the ability to make fucking freezer ice cubes while Nani, a dedicated brown woman who despite lost her parents by a lethal storm had to push her grief aside because Lilo was now her main priority, took care of her, fed her, probably paid money for her hula classes, busted her ass at her job to financially support Lilo, busted her ass to emotionally support Lilo, supported Lilo’s photography talent even though Lilo’s theme was a little weird, got her a dog and even during moments where Nani hit was hitting rock bottom (ex: getting fired but didn’t put her frustration out on Lilo) she did whatever it took to keep her little sister from being taken away, and wanted nothing but happiness and safety for her.

Stop regretting the past. Stop dwelling on all of the chances you wish you took and the moments when wish you kept quiet. All of the first kisses you were too afraid to lean into, all of the 5 seconds of no-fear that you never had. For whatever reason, you made the choices you made and they’ve shaped you into who you are today. You did what you thought was right. You did what you had to do to make it to where you are today. Don’t look back in sorrow. Do not lament. Simply let it be and look forward into your infinite future. You are doing so great.

I know we all talk shit about cops at pride, but I have to say, watching the police/military/ranger contingent walk past at the San Diego Pride Parade made me cry of happiness and this is why: watching this small group of officers and civil servants proudly holding their partner’s hands and marching in a place where they are very not welcome and people are screaming at them, “THIS IS AGAINST PRIDE”, filled me with so many emotions. These officers are on our side. They became officers to protect people like them, Us. I have a great deal of respect for lgbtq officers, they put their life on the line more than any “ordinary” officer and they’re doing it For Us. Thank them, don’t boo them. It takes a great deal of courage to march in a pride parade, Especially for the officers, where they know they’re not welcome. But it was beautiful watching uniformed officers proudly holding their boyfriend’s hand in the air, lesbian rangers and civilians hugging each other in solidarity, trans civilians thanking the trans military people for continuing to serve for our rights. As much as the police suck, we’ve got our own in there, and they’re trying they’re damndest to change the system from the inside out

People who said family will always love and support you unconditionally probably did not experience what’s it like to have an abusive, narcissistic family who don’t know what is healthy love.

My home will be a home with no loud anger, no explosive rage, no slamming doors or breaking glass, no name calling, shaming or blackmail. My home will be gentle, it will be warm. It will keep my loved ones safe. No fear, no hurt and no worries. I may come from a broken and twisted place but I will build something whole and safe. I’ll sing in the shower again, cook with a smile and dance in all the rooms. I will heal.
