Think about it. Jyn’s father called her Stardust as a child. That innocent, shimmering, hopeful word. After he was taken and her mother was killed, Jyn never forgot what he called her. Even when she became one of Saw Gerrera’s best fighters and later a hardened prisoner of the Empire, she heard Galen’s message and he calls her Stardust again, shattering her tough exterior. He even used her name as the code name for the Death Star plans. The weapon that he created, which could make dust out of stars. And when you think about it it’s this oddly poetic foreshadowing that Galen’s little Stardust becomes exactly that in the end. Stardust.
