Every #miku is #canon
This kind of response to things I say about sex work, which isn't always phrased like this but almost always focuses on me being male or a man or my pronouns, shows a fundamental misunderstanding of why mansplaining is bad.
I am a sex worker. I have been for a decade. The majority of people I know are sex workers and I'm embedded in sex worker community. I started before 18 and have done it in brothels, cars, my own home, clients' homes, saunas, and hotels.
It's absolutely reasonable to criticize men who speak on issues they don't experience like an authority, especially when they speak over women to do it. It is not reasonable to raise someone's gender (or in this case, pronouns) as a reason their thoughts aren't worth hearing when the issue is one they do face.
I see people bringing up that I'm trans in response to things like this, as a way to legitimize my speech. The reason I refuse to do so, despite many of my experiences selling sex being pre-transition, is that I equally do not want cis men who have done sex work to be silenced on the topic.
We need more active and former sex workers to speak out. That won't happen if we're dismissing those who do.
the sunk cost fallacy has been my favorite fallacy for as long as I can remember. so at this point it's probably too late to pick a different one
caramel frappe give me the strength to clean my room
caramel frappe PLEASE
#this art is so evocative. it feels like a goya painting
thank you so much this is the highest compliment
OP did a lovely job with this piece. The pose they picked is a difficult one to do correctly and dynamically- the doubling over is hard to illustrate without making it look weird or poorly drawn, the low seat of the “pelvis” making the figure dip down lower (to emphasize the clutching motion of the hands) is a hard perspective to imagine without a reference. I liked the way OP chose to draw the shoulders, evoking both the hunching of shoulders that would be present in a fleshier painting and drawing out the strong, dynamic curve of the body.
The blood, the desperate clutch, the crying and the pose all suggest something religious, making the post all the more impactful with its drawing- The caramel frappe does not answer the subject, just as God does not answer the subjects of paintings who depicted the same theme.
It’s also intriguing where OP chose to put details. In amostly minimalist creation, the (relatively) detailed frappe, hands, and face guides your eyes in a a dynamic way- from the frappe to the face, then follows the line of the body out to the end of the legs- making the art more interesting to the eye.
I have a theory about the colors that I’m not sure is true, but I think the subject being black and white separates it from the frappe, which is fully colored. The blood, neither frappe nor person colored, acts as a connector between the two– the only ways the two subjects can connect are through touch and sight, both of which causes the human subject pain. Then again, I may be reading into things too much idk
okay this is my favorite comment on this entire post

No. 18 Macrocilix maia
Found across East Asia through to Sumatra and Borneo.
While many moths around the world have evolved to camouflage themselves as bird droppings, M. maia is remarkable for also including markings resembling two flies feeding on it as well.
Some sources also report that the moth also emits a strong smell, although scientific studies on the species are almost non-existent so this is difficult to verify.

aren't gorillas gentle giants or something. i stay out of his way, he doesn't maul me, we have a nice time picking out clothes together in opposite sides of the mall
Male gorillas are super aggressive and territorial. Also they interpret nearly every human mannerism as a sign of aggression or a challenge. Smiling and eye contact are both things that zookeepers have to be taught to suppress when they’re in the vicinity of gorillas.
Well unless the mall is his native territory I think I'm fine, I wasn't planning on smiling at him
This is all irrelevant because the obvious answer is five black mambas. I mean, that’s not actually very many snakes, and malls are fucking huge. And unlike a gorilla you can definitely outrun a snake if it does show up. Find an open space in the mall where you can see any snake coming and just hangout out there. Fucking easy.
Misguided! I would much rather have a mallmate I can easily see and hear coming. I'm confident I can stay out of the gorilla's way, but if I step on a snake or one otherwise gets the jump on me, it's all over.
It's not just about the physical danger either, it's about my mental health. One gorilla, unless he's actively mad at me, I just keep a healthy distance between us and make sure I never get trapped. With the snakes, it requires a lot more constant vigilance
They should substitute "chimpanzee" for "gorilla" in this hypothetical.
if it was a chimp i'm taking the fucking snakes
Black mambas have a reputation build on being very venomous and very fast. I'm not sure why you would think you could outrun one (or five) in an enclosed space like a mall.
Malls usually have pretty slick floors, and escalators. I’d choose the gorilla simply because I think that would make an more interesting story (and a better-selling autobiography, I Survived the Mall Gorilla) but I think I’d stand a pretty good chance at avoiding the mamba. They’re fast and aggressive and will chase you but unless we started immediately beside each other I think my sneakers would have the terrain advantage over scutes.
this is too good to leave hidden in the replies
fucking enamored with the implication that this gorilla is fully intelligent but is trying to manufacture plausible deniability like the movie barnyard

Pulp sci-fi illustration by Italian artist, Aldo Di Gennaro (b. 1938).
This is probably the most culturally important thing I’ll ever seen in my lifetime if I’m being honest. I want this affixed over my mantle, embroidered into my denim, and emblazoned into my flesh so that generations to come may never forget this 1938 gem of an illustration. Put this on my gravestone and name my children after Alfo Di Gennaro. This is what it’s all about.
Artist was obviously a leg man, but I have never seen a female alien love interest designed as THIS alien before. She’s uniquely hairy, bugged-eyed, lines would indicate at least a partial exoskeleton, she has escaped being saddled with the mammories that a non-mammal being would not have, yet she’s got it bad for Space Force Leatherhead and he is so into her. I can practically hear his prose of her cabochon eyes of nebula violet, glowing with the passion to know and be known, in the starlight. The green of her body turning more vivid as discovery (and carnal knowledge) consume her conscious mind.
To suggest a red-blooded, human man could love Greedo’s cousin? Desire her??
This is fantastic, in every sense. How many lives did this change forever?
let's 😐 with mama
One neat worldbuilding trick with Parties are for Losers is that the vast majority of the major problems faced by the characters are predominantly if not entirely social/legal/etc., and the few that aren't are quite vaguely presented
How is this a worldbuilding trick? Well, one of the major elements of PAFL is the Facility, which is a huge research facility that studies anomalies to learn of insights and possibilities that are difficult or impossible to achieve with normal means. It would be natural to wonder what sort of technological/logistical/etc. problems this sort of superphysical study would be able to solve
However, PAFL instead focuses on societal problems, which are not really directly solved by such scientific progress; hence the wonderings about the Facility don't really need to be addressed and can instead be left as considerations for worldbuilding-obsessed weirdos like me
Imagine Pearl Splatoon flipping someone off with her yuri poles
It's a common idea for dragons to have serpentine bodies serving for necks and/or tails. In addition to looking cool and monstrous, it also allows for a lot of interesting anatomical ideas
One possibility I've posited in a prior post was containing the lungs in the neck and perhaps tail, allowing for insectoid flight musculature in the ribcage. Another idea along these lines would be for the tail body to contain gills like a lamprey or a tadpole, with the inlet of the gills attached to the torso-cloaca:- when a dragon is in water its rear end will almost always be submerged, thus these rear gills would be well-poised for breathing
Another gill-related idea could be having spiracles/gill structures at the front of the torso, extending before/into the rear of the neck body. This structure would allow for lungs in the torso to get air without having to move it throughout the entire neck body. A side effect would be that the head and neck wouldn't need any respiratory structures; this could do well for a breath weapon, with the neck holding a gas-bladder full of poison/flammable gas which opens to the mouth and the lungs down in the torso just connected to spiracles
Away from respiratory structures, there are other considerations that the multiserpentine form can help:-
A winged dragon that gulps its food whole like a snake has a large problem at the ribcage, that being that wings require a sturdy structure to support the flight musculature; this goes double for insectoid-muscled dragons. With a serpentine neck body, the stomach could be placed before the ribcage, allowing the dragon to fully digest and liquefy its dinner before it passed to the abdomen. There could be an alternative for dragons with neck-spiracles of having pharyngeal jaws attached to the gill structure at the base of the neck; these extra jaws could chew/bite apart swallowed prey before they pass through the ribcage to the stomach proper in the abdomen
On the topic of the stomach, it's a popular idea for dragons to have complex, multichambered stomaches. These take up a lot of space in the body; however a serpentine-tailed dragon this problem can be averted by moving the non-stomach organs that would usually take up abdominal space into the tail body, leaving the entire abdomen as stomach space. This set-up would require the dragon to let out waste from the tail body cloaca
There are probably a lot more interesting things you could do with such anatomy, but this is all I've got for now
