Iâm a big believer in Jean doesnât drink ever but maybe one night the floozies drag him out to kareoke and he get a little tipsy and somehow ends up on stage. ok I slept like 3 hours last night so this will not be as coherent as I hoped but the quickest version is this: there's an anchor arc in TBC that has to be solid, as I've hinged every other part of the story on it, but the further we got into the book the more fragile it became. Tashie & I went back and forth for 2+ weeks trying to make it work. turns out a clean fix was impossible, and the only thing to do was tear the entire arc out and start over. I have faith I can get it right this time, but I don't have faith I can rewrite & revise (and edit everything else around it) in time for a November deadline. Sorry, my lovies, but thank you for all your kind words & for sticking with me anyway <3
Jabberwocky constantly getting his ears into his water bowl when he eats, which means A.) his ears are soaking wet after and b.) he is getting water all over the apartment. So Jean steals one of the girls' scrunchies and every time Jabberwocky goes to eat, Jean makes him sit first so he can (gently) tie his ears out of the way.
But it gets to a point where Jabberwocky will NOT eat at all unless his ears are tied back. Which is fine and well and dandy, except Jean + the girls forget to tell Jeremy, so Jeremy is trying every release word he knows in French AND English, and losing it bc the dog won't eat no matter what or how hard he tries.
He calls Laila in a panic, who tells him to call Jean, who shows up in a flash to the apartment prepared to fight off god himself. Meanwhile all he needs to do is tie back his dog's ears.
Jeremy is VERY confused. He is also very relieved and very endeared.
