i can never look at hopper again without knowing he picked up his daughter and left her sister to die. he could have helped her too. he could have picked her up, dragged her. anything. she weighs 80lbs and she's on a smooth linoleum floor. ill never forgive him or the duffers. im not. seeing her lying alone like that was one of the worst scenes in the show and one of the worst things a character has done to another in the show.

in all this negativity, I do just want to say that in my opinion Gaten, Caleb and Sadie gave incredible performances and don’t get enough credit.
Last season the Duffers hyped up Finn’s performance in the love confession but (and I don’t mean any offence to Finn here) Gaten, Caleb and Sadie’s performances in the finale were much more impressive.
And really if it was anyone’s season this season, it was Gaten’s. I hope he stays booked and busy
I’m sorry but all these plot holes in Stranger Things 5 were insane. They said the finale would answer all the questions but not only did it barely answer anything, it just created dozens more

not to poke the hornet's nest, but... i'd be lying if i said that people's byler theories never remind me of the johnlock conspiracy. i agree that a lot of the show's writing would completely fall flat if they don't do anything meaningful with a romance between mike and will but that doesn't 100% guarantee that they necessarily *will* do anything meaningful with it, y'know? (justifiably) needing it to be the case doesn't manifest it. and even if byler is in st5, i dunno, that doesn't necessarily mean that the apparent symbolism folks had been picking up on was actually symbolic or relevant... though i suppose at that point it wouldn't matter anyway.
i genuinely hope you're all right, and i really think it would be a disservice to both characters if nothing is done with byler in st5, but i guess i don't have as much faith in the duffers as you all do! maybe that's a bit cynical of me, but i am saying so in good faith. i don't think people are necessarily reading "too much" into things, but i think it's important to recognize that perhaps the writers might not have thought about these things as much as you... i don't want people to drive themselves crazy in case the finale disappoints them, is all.
