DESERT SESSION -Â music and co-operation between south Italy and Saharawi refugees
The musical collective band born between Apulia and Sahrawi, refugee people living confined in the Algerian desert, is working on DISPLAYS, an album to describe the emotions experienced in recent years in the residences and during the missions which musicians, volunteers and kids shared between Capo di Leuca, in Italy, and villages near Tindouf, supporting cultural and health co-operation in the field of disability, childhood and disease in the refugees camps.
"That of the refugee is an existential condition, metaphor for human existence in search of a refuge, a balance between solitude and social identity." N. Farah

 DISPLAYS
Our adventure becomes an album
Displays is the result of the adventure that musicians and children experienced between journeys and residences with composer Aaly Mohammed and other Sahrawi and it includes performances of the songwriter old and new songs together with pieces of another important Sahara poet, Naym Alal. Songs that still represent the identity of the people that live between uncertainty and stability who must necessarily look for their way for a strategic culture and social renewal.
The name DISPLAYS intends to “joke” with the prefix “dis” to reverse the situation of all “dis” in the world starting from who, like children, lives a double fragile condition (disabled and displaced) to which we want to react using the power of human musicality.
