I get the impression that not many agree with me that (dancy) Will has a core aromantic fiber that thoroughly despises (mikkl) Hannibal for triggering romance. he doesn't ignore the complication of his own feelings, he hates them. he's annoyed with himself, and that snowballs into strategic cannibalism as a calculated flirt. which backfires.

having them ever be comfortable around each other is a mistake, (imo) because each represents something the other has always lacked. They're not drawn together because they're similar in any way or have anything in common, not because they admire each other. It's not elemental. Hannibal decides to stalk and harm Will because he's evil. Will decides to entrap Hannibal because he's a fucking fed, and his boss is an obsessive rule breaker that pushed him into the most stressful imaginable positions, again and again, for this purpose, to catch 'exotic' killers.
