So here goes, in order of preference:

a) Like Animal - hands down the best song in the album. Already spoke about it here.

b) Aliens - RM got me in a chokehold as soon as he starts rapping. And Jhope? There’s a reason why he was the one to release his solo work first. Vocal line? Stupendous. Jimin, again, my favourite. But seriously? RM. The moment he comes on - it just takes the song to another level.

c) Body to body - this should have been released in place of Swim. But I also see why it wasn’t. I agree with JiHope that the original shorter version with JKs vocals layered over Arirang would have been a better choice. I hope they do release that version.

d) They don’t know about us - I really like this song. Right off the bat. It’s got that oomph. The only thing I wish they could have done better is to reduce the repetitiveness. I don’t know why this is a common theme throughout the tracks in this album.

e) One more night - very underrated song according to me. It’s one I would reach for when driving

f) Normal - how do you know I’m a true Jimin biased? Because I replay 0.39-0.50 just to hear those breathy vocals.

g) Please - the way JiKook’s voices harmonise and Jin on this album (silver voice for a reason) are the only reason why I like this song. Give me more of that.

h) Swim - I already spoke about it. But now that I’ve listened to the remixes I actually loved JK’s acoustic version, Suga’s version and Jimin’s version.

I don’t really have an order for the rest of the tracks.

They don’t know bout us is one that has climbed up the ranks right after Like Animals. At some point I should do a lyrical analysis. I’m sure others have as well but yeah…probably going to write something on it.

2.18 onwards….stupendous. That’s Jin providing background vocals.

I have had the best time singing along and it only made me want to attend a concert. I really really hope they incorporate some more choreo, at least for the more hyped up songs like Run BTS. For newer army’s who’ve never been to a BTS concert and were looking forward to it, it would be a treat to watch them perform in that manner. I could see Jimin’s dance demon wanting to break out so many times. Ugh. My man. See this.

There was a point where I got so emotional. I don’t know why. These boys are just so beautiful. I don’t get why some of them get hated on so much. They are all so talented. Beautiful. Inside out. Jimin especially in that white outfit killed me. I think both him and Namjoon decided they would flex their gorgeous arms today and kill us. This is my ghost writing this post.

I cannot wait for the insane fan cams. Because, it is impossible to capture everyone. I get it. And so I am waiting to see all the fan cams so I can freak out again.

I sound so parasocial right now but I just cannot get over how many performers will go on stage and half ass everything, and they won’t care at all (or not enough) about how disappointed their fans are. The same fans who spend a ton of money on tickets, on transportation and accommodations just to see them. And it’s not justification but it’s just natural to sort of be desensitized to that stuff after over a decade in this career. How much can you care? How long can it all feel just as important and precious as the early days?

But then here’s Jimin, who comes online late at night, at a time he doesn’t usually, because he’s worried about how fans felt. Here’s Jimin, one of the most popular members of the biggest band in the world, visibly uncomfortable but pushing through because he wants to comfort fans and communicate to them clearly. Here’s Jimin, who feels like he can only sleep peacefully if he knows his fans are happy and satisfied and you can tell he means it. He doesn’t play cold, detached, or “above” that as a celebrity of his status is expected.

This is the same Jimin who originally thought to make his debut album free. The same Jimin who has constantly pointed out how much money fans spend. The same one who is constantly telling them to not get a cold, to be careful, to not worry if they can’t afford something or if they can’t access things the correct way, because he’ll love them anyway. Who writes paragraphs to his fans to give them advice, who tears up when he sees how much he and the group have given to people, who looks out at the crowd every night they perform and has a moment of pure awe.

He’s just so in touch with his emotions and humanity in an industry that seems intent on stripping every one of it. I’ve always said that the reason why Jimin’s fans are so dedicated is because they don’t just love him as an artist. They don’t just love him for his skills, or his stage presence, or his vocals, his dance, his numbers and achievements. Because as much as they love all of those things, they love, perhaps even more, who he is as a PERSON. And it’s not just for say or for show. It’s real, genuine admiration for who he is and how he’s presented himself consistently all this time.
