the heavy thud of fist and swinging of chains fill the gym , reviberating with the same anxious energy that swells inside gwen. her week was consumed by coursework and missed phone calls – she hadn’t reached out a friend since last sunday. her punches are almost keeping rhythmn with the angry music that’s blaring through her eardrums, and she’s drifted off into a sweat covered daze. each worry fades away as she takes it out on the worn red bag. this proves to be a very quick recipe for disaster. moments later, when someone appears behind the bag to get her attention, gwen misses it and sends the bag swinging into their abodmen. she gasp and quickly pulls her headphones out. ‘ dude, i’m so, so sorry, i didn’t even see you standing there. are you okay ??’

being    hit    in    the    abdomen    wasn’t    exactly    how    he    wanted    to    start    his    afternoon,    but    there    he    was.    yet,    he    wasn’t    mad    and    even    let    a    giggle    fell    out.    “    it’s    okay,    don’t    worry,    love    ”    he    says.    “    do    you    know    if    the    swim    team    is    done    for    today?    ”

‘ fuck, fuck fuck !! ’  was today’s mantra. from oversleeping, a terrible hangover headache, a lack of rolling papers to the grand shitshow finale – rhyland was locked out of the dorms without his access card, which was probably upstairs in the pants he’d worn yesterday.  his phone was dead from being out late studying, and not one person had walked by in ten minutes. an agitated growl is followed in quick succession by the sound of him raking his lighter against his thumb in a desperate attempt to light his last cigarette in what was turning out to be a torrential downpour. his only solace was just a foot of space on the frigid staircase where the wind couldn’t cut him in half while he waited for someone to walk to by, though it wasn’t enough to stop him from getting soaked. he exhales with a bitter slip of ‘ i fucking hate mondays. ’

a    few    drops    of    sweat    rolling    down    his    face    when    he    walked    into    the    building,    ready    to    change    on    his    clothes    just    in    time    for    his    first    class    of    the    day    before    his    eyes    caught    sign    of    the    other    in    the    floor.    “    i    don’t    understand    this    hate    on    mondays.    ”    he    coments.    “    you    okay    there?  ”
