Kenpachi was already annoyed with the kid. He hated it when people touched his hair, it made him uncomfortable, yet people still insisted on touching... or at least attempt too.

His words were not a bluff.

It took Kenpachi hours to get his hair to his desired style and he couldn’t afford to have his hair ruined for someone’s pleasure. He had a routine that he had set up for his hair, and he was so passionate about his locks that his mood would be spoiled if he misplaces a bell. It defeated the purpose, in his opinion, at least.

Kenpachi was standing still, his arms firmly crossed his arms as he looked around, trying to figure out where he was. He was lost.... again, but the look on his face did not waver from it’s usual tight and serious demeanour.

When he stood still, the bells that were tied into his hair did not move or make a sound. It wasn’t windy, so it wasn’t as if the wind moved his hair, activating the sound that the bells made upon movement.

Someone touched his hair...

... and someone was about to die.
