im sorry but in most works ive seen under this ship GIR is the one taking initiative

and honestly it just?? doesnt make sense??

the whole point of gir at first was to be like "haha sir unit that doesnt obey"

thats the point!!! gir is still willing to do what zim asks but way less compared to that of a normal SIR unit

also if you ask me, gir is just generally the type to do things like confess first and take initiative on affection

plus i dont think ive personally ever seen a zagir shipper ship them in that kind of dynamic of “zim as master takes advantage of his servant robot’s obedience” its always been stuff like “gir who clearly has freedom of will is more intune with things like earth culture including romance and realizes he has a crush/is in love with zim cause he sees around the world and in media fall in love and he wishes that for him and zim and of course gir is the one that is always trying to smooch on, gift zim flowers, etc etc and zim only familiar with being an angry irken, is more annoyed about this than anything and thinks its just a thing that will pass as its just gir being silly as usual.” (i like to think zim just gets used to it and accepts it, is arguing with dib one day and gir just comes up and gives him a cheek on the kiss and then lives and zim never stops what hes doing and dib is like what huh did anyone else see that?)

like thats the main/default way i see it of course there might be people out there that ship it in a gross way (but tbh really we barely have any shippers as it is so like if theyre out there theyre not making content of it, which is fine as i just care for wholesome zagir things), and of course there are plenty other sweet scenarios were they “fall in love” in a wholesome way like zim realizing “oh yeah i guess i do care about gir a lot, in fact maybe i would care if anything happened to him and maybe seeing him be stupid sometimes makes me smil- oh no.” and then theres some cute drama from that because oh no hes a great irken soldier he cant fall for his robot servant!! zim isn’t capable of love even!! whats wrong with zim!! and gir is like “awww it ok” gives him a smooch and zim is like SCREAMS THATS NOT HELPING

but yeah half the time gir isn’t even around zim and is just doing whatever he wants, which is interesting on its own because zim never automatically needs him, and it only takes a couple of tries against something until he’s like ok i need gir for this and then gir comes from god knows where to help, be it that sometimes he makes it worse
