☆ unfamiliar feeling

“I may have picked up a few unknown skills while you were away, Appa, skills that are essential to a girl like me.” She chuckled at how her thoughts were formulated, a light shrug of her shoulder made afterwards. She couldn’t help but grin at his gestures. “I wouldn’t call it sass though. I’m just being… hmm… let’s say– opinionated? Clever? And surely, we will go and pray and– well, if it’s necessary, cleanse too? I was just thinking of praying to be honest. Ah! I will also ask Areum Unni to join us in our quest to find my designated boy? Young man? Yes, I think young man sounds better!”

That sentence had him staring at the girl as though it would draw from her the truth. “I must catch up quick...” Was all he said after a pause, sharpening his eyes as he considered all the blurred lines in that sentence. “If by that you mean you have nothing to be cleansing, hallelujah.” He emphasized the word even more by gesturing to greet the Heavens. “Well, I...” Jungyeol was about to object but, remembering how picky Areum was, it could turn out being a good thing. “... might agree to that.” It was pretty obvious he had already agreed to that. “Tough quest you got there. S grade. But sure. Let’s go not find that boy-slash-young man of yours.”

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Areum remarked as she stopped the nagging midway and threw a small judging look at him. Even though it was not the first time she had received that kind of regard in their years of friendship, she was not completely aware of the meaning behind it. “Well that is because you have class after while I don’t! It’s not the same thing and you should think of yourself you know… Wait, you brought us lunch?” She blinked after processing his words in her head. Before the female student could do anything else, the other had already started moving her to another location and seemed to be thrilled by the idea of her trying out his food. “What’s the occasion?” She let her feet move to the direction that the her friend was pushing them to while looking at him with confusion.

His body language changed completely as he turned to the girl, wide eyed. "Awesome! I'm so in! What do I need? I mean... tickets I need to buy or... When is it?"

"Naega eonje?!" The male retorted. “You got the wrong guy, noona, I’ve never done that. Besides, I don't even see why being short is funny. It's just...  cute. On others." Because he liked being tall even if that made him a little clumsy. In fact, he was the one being bullied about his height all the time, not the other way around. "Even two since you're paying.”

“What are you talking about?” All she could do is to laughat his retort, she can’t seem to stop herself from smiling at the fact thattheir friendship never faltered, there’s nothing they could do to actually tearthis friendship apart and that’s one of the things that she likes most aboutit. With that, she can conclude that they both understand in their own littleways, and that’s why he’s one of those few that she trusts the most. “Notreally, when I sleep, I’m like a dead log, you should know that!” He should,because it’s been a while since they started sleeping together, with him on thefloor and her on the bed whenever she forgets to pay for her rent, and she getskicked out for a day. “But maybe… just maybe, you know, I wake up in the middleof the night and kind of get hungry?” There’s a grin on her lips, taking hisarm on hers while walking ahead as soon as she slips on her shoes by thedoorway. “We should! I heard there’s a spring edition of that couple thing. Let’sorder seafood this time, spicy!”

“I’m just babbling.” He shrugged. No point in arguing. “Isn’t that exactly what a sleepwalker would say? Or feel. They're pretty much unaware... unless it's been prior diagnosed - but if that isn't the case I... I just really hope I'm wrong." Her defense made him grimace as he wasn't sure whether he should laugh of sigh and got stuck somewhere in between whilst dressing up his jacket; and then wrapped Seulgi's around her shoulders seeing she completely ignored it. "I suppose that works for a reasonable explanation." Because of course she would, Jungyeol mused as they crossed the doorway. "You think we could score some seafood? That's a long shot, is it not? I was just hoping for spicy rice cakes instead of ramen but that works much better!"

FEARS & DISCOMFORTS:

“Three, two… one, run!” Areum raced to the podium as soon as they were dismissed from class. It was all a matter of surviving or not in university. However, being seated at the back of the room, she had no chance to be first up there. People would normally think that being second in line wouldn’t be so bad but they were wrong. There was always that one student who would ask a long list of questions even when they were not relevant and taking over the teacher’s time at the end of the tutorial. Like a never ending scroll rolling down the few stairs… The female grimaced at the thought while waiting.

As Jungyeol considered today was not his lucky day either, he blinked several times to help her from noticing his wandering eyes. It wasn't intentional that they kept averting from her eyes to her lips sometimes - mostly when she was going off non stop about something she felt strongly about or in moments such as that, when they had just reunited after a while. Only "a while" was such a short spam of time in his conception... "Ah-- why are you nagging me when you haven't eaten either! I wouldn't start without you, noona. Besides, I brought sandwiches. They're surprisingly good and I wanted to see your reaction when you eat them." The excitement was clear as he spoke, an arm folding behind her shoulders to lead her towards the stone table nearby.

“Will Red Velvet be there?!”

But why, why, why can’t people just say what they mean?

“… ah. Well, won’t that be difficult? The church is a good place to find Jesus, no? Unlike our Lord, which by the way I do not mind making some time Sunday to offer my prayers to him, the suitable one destined to be my loved one does not have a specific or preferred location where we can just go to get in contact with him. Also, should we invite Areum Unni as well?”
