*     biography.

yvette  rochefort  grew up  among  vineyards  in  alsace,  france.  her  family  owns  a  successful  chain  of  wineries  in  the  country  (  a  business  that  was  started  by  her  great  grandfather  ),  but  while  that’s  where  the  older  generation’s  career  took  off,  her  parents’  names  are  well  known  around  the  world  for  other  reasons.  her  mother,  a  retired  ballet  dancer,  has  her  own  lingerie  line  called  pixie  while  her  father  used  to  be  a  model  in  the  united  states.

she  was  never  a  spoiled  kid.  her  parents  were  rather  strict  when  it  came  to  raising  their  only  child,  making  sure  she  was  never  the  center  of  attention  or  on  the  news.  not  only  did  it  humble  her,  but  it  had  also  made  it  easier  for  her  to  make  genuine  relationships  with  people  in  high  school,  especially  those  who  weren’t  as  aware  of  her  family  status.  her  parents  also  encouraged  her  dreams  to  pursue  writing,  although,  like  a  true  cliche,  they  do  hope  she  will  end  up  taking  over  their  winery  one  day,  much  to  yvette’s  dismay.

after  permanently  settling  into  tribeca,  new  york  at  the  age  of  sixteen,  a  lot  of  things  changed.  yvette  ended  up  diving  head  first  into  the  fashion  world,  enthralled  by  its  history  and  future.  then  came  music.  then  interior  design  ...  travelling  ...  you  name  it.  as  a  strongly  opinionated  woman,  she  had  felt  the  need  to  express  her  feelings  about  the  latest  fleeting  trends,  and  that’s  how  her  blog—YVESFORT— came  to  be.  it  only  took  a  couple  years  and  a  plethora  of  connections  with  celebrities  through  her  parents  for  the  blog  to  take  off  and  become  rather  well  known  (  or,  at  the  very  least,  somewhat  known  )  in  almost  every  industry,  both  applauded  or  with  shaking  heads  at  her  for  her  remarks,  quips,  and  brutal  honesty.

while  her  parents’  money  was  the  reason  she  got  a  head  start,  all  of  yvette’s  success  can  only  be  credited  as  her  own  doing.  even  with  her  family  doting  on  her  at  times,  she  was  always  independent,  striving  to  put  a  distance  between  herself  and  the  status  of  her  family  wherever  success  and  brand  was  concerned.  to  expand  her  horizons  and  become  part  of  different  circles,  she  had  ended  up  dabbling  in  a  little  bit  of  everything,  even  sports,  although  writing  remains  to  be  her  biggest  passion.

while  nowadays  she  continues  to  write  about  pretty  much  everything,  she’s  mostly  known  as  a  celebrity  /  gossip  blogger  —  think  perez  hilton,  but  definitely  less  problematic,  less  petty  and  more  likeable  (  well,  that’s  actually  up  for  debate  ).  maybe  even  lauren  conrad  !  it’s  not  a  title  she’s  fond  of,  but  she  knows  what  gets  her  the  most  views  ;  however,  she’s  been  trying  to  write  less  of  that  and  engage  in  more  honest  reviews  and  get  back  to  things  that  boosted  her  blog  in  the  first  place.

aesthetics:  bare  feet  in  the  mornings,  worn-out  pages  of  poetry  books,  lies  dripping  with  honey,  shiny  lip  gloss,  old-fashioned  in  champagne  flutes,  fur  coats  with  sneakers,  spontaneous  subway  rides  at  three  am,  ashes  of  cigarettes  under  covers,  pink  hues  over  glazed  eyes,  wigs  in  neon  colors,  stolen  kisses  &  hearts,  endless  games  of  push  and  pull.

personality:  if  i  had  to  describe  her  with  just  one  word,  i’d  say  she’s  free-spirited.  she  lives  her  life  by  her  own  rules,  unapologetically,  and  it  does  end  up  hurting  a  lot  of  people  in  the  process.  she’s  not  a  mean  girl  —  she  won’t  form  opinions  based  on  status  or  wealth  &  she’s  not  rude  for  the  sake  of  being  edgy.  on  the  contrary,  she  would  much  rather  stay  in  the  shadows  and  observe  other  people.  she  does  like  being  the  center  of  attention,  but  only  temporarily  ;  she’s  not  after  fame  or  popularity,  she  just  wants  to  live  in  the  moment  and  satisfy  her  urges  and  desires.  yvette  is  very  stubborn,  but  self-aware.  however,  that  doesn’t  mean  she’ll  actually  own  up  to  her  mistakes  (  often  times,  she  will  hold  other  people  accountable  for  that,  but  not  herself  ).  a  hypocrite,  really.  she’s  not  great  with  commitment  because  she’s  rather  fickle  and  gets  bored  very  quickly,  but  if  someone  or  something  manages  to  hold  her  attention  for  over  a  year,  then  she’ll  be  very  dedicated  to  it.  don’t  even  get  her  started  on  romantic  relationships  —  those  usually  end  before  they  even  start  or  they  end  tragically  because  she’s  the  type  to  move  on  from  one  to  another.  very  very  very  private  !  that’s  another  important  aspect  of  her.  it’s  pretty  difficult  to  get  an  interview  with  her  where  she’ll  talk  about  her  private  life  &  she  almost  never  engages  with  other  blogs  and  nosy  people.  sure,  they  can  easily  catch  her  in  the  act,  but  she  won’t  mention  or  explain  it.  for  that  reason,  when  pushed,  she’ll  manipulate  and  lie  a  lot  —  she  will  also  do  that  for  the  sake  of  entertainment  because  ...  why  not.  her  brutal  honesty  only  appears  in  her  writings  or  anything  that  doesn’t  concern  her  in  the  slightest.
