you didn’t know how many drinks you’ve consumed before you started to feel fuzzy. you could barely walk to the bathroom. your friends were starting to get worried so they went with the last option which you told them not to do. it didn’t take long before jaehyun came running in with a worried look on his face. your friends pointed to where you were and jaehyun was by your side seconds later.

“jaehyun!” you slurred once you saw him. “i thought you were dead.” you prodded his chest.

“why would you think that?” he asked, pulling your arm and putting it around his shoulder as he lifted you from the bar stool. you merely shrugged as his words as your feet took you to where he was taking you. you ended up in his car.

“why are you here?” your voice very muffled, he strapped your seatbelt in place.

“your friends called me.”

“snitches.”

“how much did you have to drink? why were you even drinking in the first place?”

“was mad at you.” you yawned, looking at his facial features. you can tell he was confused.

“mad at me? what did i do?”

“you barely,” you stopped, feeling funny. “barely went to see me ‘nymore!”

“i was busy, baby.” jaehyun frowned, driving off.

“i know though, it's fine.” you giggled which made jaehyun smiled, he laughing shook his head at your behavior. “i think i love you.” you blurted out.

“well you should, i'm your boyfriend after all.” you gasped loudly at his words, making him slightly jump at your suddenness.

“i had fun tonight,” you call out, taking note of the way mark subtly flinches before regaining his posture and acting as though nothing happened. he’s cute.

“me too,” he manages to whisper, voice almost giving away towards the end due to the uncontrollable nerves brewing within. you turn to glance at him momentarily and feel your lips stretch into an uncontainable smile – something you often found yourself doing when in the presence of mark lee.

“to be honest, mark,” your sudden change in tone causes the boy’s steps to falter and you don’t miss the way something similar to doubt flashes over his eyes. you place a comforting hand on his forearm, pulling him to a stop. “i haven’t had this much fun in a long time.”

it occurs to you then, how truly beautiful mark lee is. his eyes shine with a childish, innocent glint – a clear give away of how easily amused he is. his cheeks tint pink almost immediately and small giggles bubble from his throat as a result of the smallest of things. he’s unbelievably charming, even while doing seemingly nothing.

This wasn’t the first time Haechan had crashed Mark’s apartment at an ungodly hour. In fact, the two of them would spend weekend nights playing video games and eating ramen, unless Mark had college work to complete. Then Haechan would just help himself to Mark’s game consoles. However, this was the first time Mark had to catch his best friend right after opening the door for him and help him into his bedroom so that his housemates didn’t walk up. This was the first time Mark had seen someone bleed as much as Haechan did. This was the first time Mark had to use his telekinesis on another human. The first time Mark had to remove a bullet from someone’s chest. And hopefully, the last time too.

“Another fight. Two dudes. One dude pulled out a gun and bang.” Haechan emphasises the bang by mimicking a gun using his hand, pointed straight ahead of himself and shooting the ceiling. Him dramatically threw his head back into Mark’s pillows only to groan and clutch his chest once again. His harsh reenactment of the fight he found himself in earlier caused him to have stabbing pains in his throughout chest.

“What was it about anyways? The fight.” Mark questioned out of curiosity.

“Drugs, i guess.” Haechan replied unsure, his quiet tone hinting at the fact he didn’t want to talk about it any further. Haechan didn’t like talking about the fights and bad habits he had, which were mainly fueled by his awful childhood. He wasn’t proud of that side of himself. At least that’s what Mark was told. Mark hummed in acknowledgement, trying to keep the silence out of the disorganised room. 

“You need to be more careful.” 

“I’m immortal, Mark.” Haechan remarks, making the other boy screw up his eyebrows, disapprovingly. “I’ll be fine.” 

‘I sure hope you will.’ Mark though to himself.

“Sorry about your sheets by the way.” Haechan speaks up, examining the blood stains that were dotted on the bed he was lying in. 

“Oh, it’s fine.” Mark reassured the boy, drawing his attention back to his guitar. “I’ll throw them in the wash tomorrow.” 

“I don’t understand how you can deal with me.” The wounded boy comments, letting out a soft chuckle at his friend’s patience. Something most people he knew couldn’t show or be. Especially his dad. Haechan scrunches his face as the memories of his abusive father were brought to his mind. 

“Because I care about you.” Mark whispers just loud enough for Haechan to hear, as he moves his guitar to prop it against his desk. A small smile planted itself onto Haechan’s face.

“Thanks.”

“For?” Mark raises an eyebrow.

“Caring.” 

“No, you deserved to be cared for and loved-”

“Mark?” Haechan interrupts him and props himself up so that he could easily look at Mark without completely lying on the bed.

“Yeah.”

“If you don’t shut up, I’ll beat you with that guitar.”

Mark didn’t know what came over him, but he knew he just had to see you. It had been two weeks since you last saw each other. You were swamped with schoolwork, exams, and your jobs, leading to frequent fights and disagreements. He didn’t want to end your relationship, he just thinks that you both needed space from each other for a while, which you both agreed upon. Tonight, however, Mark has had enough of being away from you. 

He was all alone in his dorm, his roommate Yuta left hours ago to party. Mark was invited, but turned it down, opting to be left alone to play with his guitar. He was strumming whatever song came to mind, mindlessly humming along. He then started strumming along to Officially Missing You by Tamia, instantly remembering you. 

Well I wish that you would call me right now,

Mark suddenly stopped playing his guitar, gulping down the lump that had formed in his throat. His chest felt tight, making it hard for him to breathe. Without giving much thought to his actions, Mark set down his guitar on his bed, put on the first pair of sneakers he found and left, still clad in his sweats and hoodie. 

You were having a bubble bath in your bathroom when Mark got to your place. He was confused at first when he didn’t find you in the living room and your bedroom, but he realized you might have been in the bathroom. 

But the water isn’t running though? Mark thought. He still approached the bathroom door, slowly opening it to reveal you in the tub. Your eyes were closed as you had your headphones on, listening to some relaxing music. You had lit lavender-scented candles which helped you relax. You snapped your eyes open as you felt another presence, head turning to the door where Mark stood.

“Hi.” He whispered, not wanting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. He visibly gulped as you stared at each other, with Mark trying his best to ignore the fact that you were naked under all the suds covering your body. 

“Hey.” You whispered back, giving him a small smile. “Care to join?” 

Mark was taken aback at your offer, but still nodded at you, uttering a small “yeah, sure” under his breath. You closed your eyes again and leaned your head against the wall as you waited for Mark to join you. He quietly stripped down to nothing, slightly conscious as you both had never seen each other naked… until today. 

As you opened your eyes, you couldn’t help but take in his naked figure, heart beating faster than normal. You removed your headphones, placing it near your laptop which was on top of your closed toilet. You then let the soft music play from your laptop speaker as you moved slightly forward to make some room for him. Mark soon joined you in the bath tub, careful to not making the water overflow. He sat down in the warm water behind you, his hand coming up to your stomach to urge you to lean against him. You both sighed out in relaxation as you leaned your head back against his shoulder as his hands found yours underwater. 

“Missed you.” You whispered against his ear as he hummed in response, kissing the side of your head. “Me too, baby.”

You both sat there for a while, just basking in each other’s presence. You tried to ignore the sexual tension floating in the air, but Mark couldn’t.
