i don’t only want to love you when you’re beautiful and laughing beneath restaurant lights. i want you feverish at three in the morning. grumpy in the grocery store. half-asleep with toothpaste on your chin. crying over something you insist is stupid. i want to know where the heating pad lives and which soup you can stomach when you’re sick. i want a love so thoroughly lived in that someday we cannot remember which coffee mug belonged to whom.
