Let me tell you the story behind making Lizzie into my goose girl.
There are many wild Greylag Geese in the part of the Netherlands where I grew up and still live; and for as long as I remember I often look at the sky to see them fly in those stunning V-shape formations.
The last 14 years I’ve lived in a house which is close by a large woodland, where I often wander about. Each summer I “meet” many Greylag Geese (and some Canadian Geese) and their goslings.
One day I started picking up loose geese feathers laying on the ground; I couldn’t stop collecting these beautiful feathers! In 14 years I picked up hundreds of them.
This is a part of my collection; sorted in size and shape. So when I thought to myself what to do with these feathers, I started to design wings ánd a goose like fantasy outfit for my grey Resinsoul Li.
Today I made part 1 of her wings. After sorting out all of the feathers, I picked some nice looking ones; 15 for each of the wings. Then I took some of my homemade paperclay and sculpted a part of the wings (which will be covered with smaller feathers later).
Can’t wait to make part 2 when the clay is dry!
