Did a sample shoot for supposed to be a ‘frozen yogurt’ product. I made some buttercream frosting, making it the ‘yogurt’ so it won’t melt. Gathered some props, like plastic flowers, corkboard for textured background and bought some fruits. The fruits are expensive, especially the strawberry. Blueberry are quite expensive, about P300+ per ¼ kilo! I have to look for an alternative and fortunately, I stumbled upon grapes with darker color. Almost the same shade as blueberry but bigger in size, so that’s what I bought instead.

I made the preparation a day before the shoot. I started making the frosting first then cut the fruits and decorate the look. After preparing, I had to keep them in the freezer until the next day to keep the look preserve and still fresh-looking.

For half-a-day, I was upstairs, literally just up the stairs, to shoot. That’s only area in our house that has a decent amount of lighting and nearest to the kitchen. I pretty much occupied the passage way and thankfully our dog didn’t go up. I had to shoot early because of the light. I only used natural light since I don’t really have any lighting equipment then did some editing after. I also learned that illustration board is very useful as a white background. It’s not too hard nor too soft, so it bends in nicely. I also happen to have a corkboard that has great dark texture and it was just what I was looking for. I also had some difficulty in shooting, as I was on the floor. Basically, everything were on the floor. I couldn’t use a table as the area is not really roomy, so it will just fall down the stair if I did. I did the set-up on the floor (I posted a photo in my instagram) and since I don’t own a tripod, I had to do the knolling shot with a parallel estimation with the ground.
