THIS IS THE BEST COMMERCIAL EVER

I’ve reblogged this so many times because I truly think every parent should involve themselves with what their child enjoys. 

Not to mention this is an act of solidarity. He’s saying “even if the entire world is against you, I’m on your side.” Which I think is important for a kid to know. He’s refusing to be a bully to his child, even if he doesn’t understand.

I work at Hot Topic and we had a white suburban dad in who was buying matching heavy metal/screamo band shirts for him and his teenage daughter and said “To be honest, I think this stuff sounds like garbage, but she likes it so we listen to it together and we’re going to the concert for Christmas.” And it was just really heartwarming to see him so involved in his child’s life and validating her interests.

“I don’t get it, but I love how you love it” is one of the best things anyone can say. My entire family asks questions about comics because they want to share my enthusiasm for them and support me, even though they otherwise wouldn’t pay attention to the industry at all.

I get questions all the time about the things i like, weather it is bands or youtubers from my mom, but when I go over to my dads it is so obvious that he does not understand or know why I like it but it makes me happy knowing that he tries. 

It’s been 4 months and my heart still hurts. It doesn’t get easier. Our atoms just feel right next to each other. I’m not looking for the same kind of super-attatched relationship that we had before, I just want one that we’re mutually in love and build each other up while we both strive towards our goals. I’ve always known he could do anything he wanted, and I was going to be there right by his side while he accomplished them. It cuts so deep even thinking that he might accomplish everything with someone else by his side, or even just not me. I know I need to be patient, but it’s so fucking hard when I know where my heart belongs and that that person is my goddamn soul mate. I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him, and I made one fucking little mistake. One fucking little gigantic mistake. I DID know that I wanted to be with him regardless of his gender identity. I DID know that I wanted to be with him through hormones. What I didn’t know was if he’d be the same. If the hormones would make his temper worse. If he’d even like me then. I got too scared. I tied my shoes together and tried to run. I’m so fucking in love with him. I really hope we can get back together. I don’t want to spend my life without him by my side. I want to save the world with him. He’s my person, and I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else. Fuck. The world runs on love and I run on his.
