It makes me feel happy

Lyra could only grumble and puff out her cheeks as the other called her “super cute”. The faint blush remained on her cheeks and she only had the option of using her hands to cover them up. “Not cute…” She mumbled.

Marley simple nodded, letting the other girl deny her small compliments. By the looks of the other she was not so used to it. Better to stop while ahead than make the other a bit more uncomfortable.

A faint blush swept across her cheeks as the female told her she was cute. She couldn’t help but try to cover it up with her hands, her mouth opening slightly as she is at a lost of what to say in response. “Um… I… uh…” She stuttered. eyes looking in every other direction to avoid contact with the girl. “I-I’m not cute…!!”

".. Super cute." Marley giggled at the flustered expression that the other girl had. It was a natural reaction, especially if they were not of vain personality. Which, by the looks of things, was not how she was. "Moreso.. I think so." She said with another soft smile.

"Wow I managed to lose my roomate already. I think this might be a new record. But heh, losing my roomate on my birthday is kinda weird."

"Hey, it’s okay! Sometimes, when I go to my part time job wearing my jumpsuit, I get dirt on my face and people think I’m a hobo." She chuckled, waving a hand in front of her face as she told the girl. Though, she didn’t quite understand how Marley would be judged as a bad person because there wasn’t anything particular about her choice of clothing that would scream "danger".

It wasn't much that she was a threat, but more that she couldn't be taken seriously. Her style had once been said to be calling for attention and not around to work but to distract others. Bluntly, it was stupid to say clothing affects how a person works and how seriously they do it. Though, the good result is that she was able to show them off in the end.

She spun around to face the other girl and came to a halt in her movements. “Yeah… But I can tell you’re not a bad person, so it’s all good.” She gave the other a small smile, one that was friendly yet filled with confidence in what she just said. It was probably naive of her for her to assume something like that, but Lyra didn’t think about it too much.

A small smile sprouted on the girl's face at the comment that she did not look like a bad person, thus being able to witness the other's little secret. "I'm glad.. Usually.. One look at my choice of style, people would think I am up to something.. It's just preference, you know?" Marley said with a small shrug and nod as she explained it some more.

No matter what, those kinds of thoughts and doubts always plagued the girl’s minds. She tried her best to remember the words of Professor Elm, “It’s just like any other weapon — it’s only a tool. It’s all up to who wields it.” Of course she knew there were people like her out there who are trying to make a difference… It was just a bit hard to believe at times.

".. So.. If I was a bad guy and you were leading me to show me this, it would probably end in a bad way, wouldn't it?" Marley asked after processing the explanation the dainty brunette had given to her. She kind of figured that with this sort of knowledge, in the wrong hands it could end in a bad sort of way. It was not strange that she was going on about something that she was passionate about, in fact it was kind of cute.

"Yeah. With certain things, it’s good not to reveal it out in public." The expression on her face became a bit more serious and there was a hint of worry and uncertainty in her eyes. "Science has a tendency to be used for bad things, you know…"

The Lolita was left confused at the comment she had made about certain things meaning to not be let out to the public. It only left her with a curious look and a slight concern that she might be getting herself into something odd.

"Uh… Well, let’s just say it’s going to be something like a pet…" She wanted to keep what she was working on a secret, but she was dying to at least tell someone. But how exactly do you tell someone that you were going to build a combat-based robot with a weapons system? That’s not really something you tell other people without getting weird looks. “I’ll tell you more, but it can’t be out here in public.”

"... Cant be out in public?" She asked with a rather curious tone. What exactly could he mean by that. It was a bit suspicious yet thrilling to hear that she was willing to share what her project was about.

"Yeah, mechs. You know, like robots and stuff." To be quite honest, with the existence of Pokemon, mecha was a topic not often talked about outside of movies. Come on, why have robots with advanced AI when you already have Pokemon that can shoot laser beams out of its mouth, right? But the structure, the build — that’s what makes mechs so interesting.

Admirable the girl was. In her choice of passion she displayed it well and without it being dragged out in a way that would possibly offend any listening ears. Not that there was anything wrong with it but Marley was just a rather cautionary type.

Get Lyra to talk about something she loves and she’ll go on and on about it until you tell her to shut up. Honestly, if it involves mechs, she’ll be all over it.

".. Hm, no argument there.. It does seem like a battle worth watching." It was cute and admirable how she seemed to have gotten worked up over the topic. Started off with a movie and shifted to a goal of hers.

"Well, the movie centers around these huge monsters called Kaiju and they go around destroying cities and stuff, right? And the only way for humans to combat them is to use these giant mechs called Jaegars and it requires two people to pilot them through a process called ‘drifting’ which is basically a type of mind meld that allows the synchronization to the Jaegar itself. You should go see the movie if you ever get the chance!! I, for one, would love to see it again but in 3D!"

Marley looked curiously at the girl, nodding as she explained the basic plot of the story. It just went on to show her little theory about monsters causing some sort of mayhem.

"That sounds pretty interesting.. Though.. I kind of want to know if the machines were the heroes or the villains -- .. But you did mention monsters.. So I am assuming they were causing some sort of mess and panic.."

Weeks had come and gone now that the minor detective had finished his hazing, boring period of finding pointless objects for other students on the campus. It had finally reached a point where he in fact was being given decent cases to solve, that actually sent him off of campus and even out of Nimbasa in some instances. Today, was one of those.

It didn’t look like Hugh caught along what it was that she was carrying around, by his response, she kinda figured he thought it was a few flowers that she may have had picked up. “… Ahh.. Yeah. That’s right.” Boy did it feel wrong lying, but it was one way that she could protect the identity of the Pokemon.  “Gracideaflowers..” With any luck, he wouldn’t know that these flowers were not indigenous to the Unova region.
