when obi-wan let those words slip delicately past his lips, you stood up from the sofa that you were leisurely settled on and sauntered towards him, carefully taking his exhausted figure into the warmth of your embrace. his arms snaking around your waist, pulling you into him more than you already were — if that was even possible — keeping you flushed against his armour clad chest, wishing he could stay like this for a lifetime. your arms relaxed around his neck while he nuzzled his face in the crook of yours.

usually, he wasn’t one to show vulnerability and true, raw emotion but when it came to you, he felt he needed to.

what was the point in a relationship if there was miscommunication and little to no trust. plus, all the secrecy was sorely taking a toll on it at this point, challenging the strength of your love for one another.

obi-wan inhaled the mixture of scents that was your cucumber shampoo and tropical fruit lotion, a favorite you used just after getting out of the shower, and stars — he loved that fragrance on you.

from previous experiences, you knew all too well what he needed in moments like this, moments of sorrow and loss and tragedy; it was the radiant, gentle energy that flowed from your being — a source of light.

he needed to recharge and the best way to do so was to be as close as he possibly could to you, wrapped in a blanket of reassurance and adoration; he seeks a sanctuary within the affection you’ve given him. the gratitude and compassion you’ve shown him through the years has always resided inside, creating a home in the depths of his heart.

he’s waited for the moment when he finally could open up to you.

both of you held on to each other as if it were the last touch; drinking in the tranquility of having one another in such a proximity, especially after weeks of separation.

the light sound of his sobbing was heard — and though you didn’t mind one bit — you absolutely wished that there was more you could do for him, to truly comfort him.
